High chai at pan-Indian restaurant, Baluchi, within The Lalit London, near Tower Bridge. This is a 180 year old, Grade II listed building, which was previously a grammar school! Such a grand setting! Having already had dinner here before, I thought I'd try the "High Chai", which is an indian twist to the traditional English afternoon tea. It consists of dhokla (chickpea cake), kathi roll, bhelpuri, samosa, chicken pakora, mango lassi, and a selection of indian desserts, such as gajar ka halwa, flaky soan papdi and macaroons. Plus, copious amounts of indian tea!
