I know bitching about it isn't going to help, but....
It really annoys me how much attention BD gets. It doesn't matter whether it's complete adoration or ungodly loathing. Everyone cares about the way the do things in some capacity, and it's really frustrating. I've been in BDB for longer than I should probably admit to, and it has more to do with the fact that I love going back. It feels like home. Why can't the B Corps ever get any recognition? I follow enough drum corps blogs to see that every corps has people who love them. Every one gets some time in the limelight. Even SCVC and OC and the Spartans. I don't know whether or not it's because they're a cadet corps for BDA, or if just no one cares. Everyone posts scores and gets pissed off about BD winning, or even coming close, and if someone actually comes out and says "Good Job, BD! I love you guys!" they get fucking attacked by the community. You aren't allowed to love BD. It's a sin against decency and good sense. You're an idiot.
While that really irks me, it's worse that *no one* says anything about the B Corps. Unless you are in B Corps, it doesn't matter to you, or anyone. BD doesn't even care about BDB. They complain about the B Corps costing them money. BD's color guard is actively told not to interact with the B Corps color guard solely based on the fact that they are better. They're too good to talk to us. The simple act of saying "Hi" might make them any less perfect. That's infuriating, and it sucks to turn around to the rest of the DCI community and see little-to-no acknowledgement of BDB's existence. Sure, we get news articles and pictures on the DCI website and on Jolesch. But it's nothing special.
I don't know. I just wish someone cared.
