Family Day Snare Line 2012. 27 snares from the Blue Devils "A" Corps, "B" Corps, and "C" Corps.
I suddenly started missing tour out of nowhere. This picture is from SoCal tour this past summer. We stayed at this really nice school somewhere in Southern California. The field and stadium was so beast. Not to mention that the gym was huge, had a/c, and the showers were nice. Percussion had a sky appreciation moment before our sectional block. Haha. I took the picture right before ensemble block, so no, I didn't bust out my phone during rehearsal. My favorite part of tour was definitely the view of the sky from different parts of the country. Man, I miss it.
Constantine, MI. That field was horrible and the grass was so tall. You can see every drop of dedication in my shirt, though.
Not exactly how I wanted it to look, but it's good enough for 2:30AM.
Well, tour with Blue Devils B is officially over. I had an amazing and life changing experience in an activity I never thought I'd ever be able to participate in. I learned so much this season and became so much stronger both mentally and physically. Not to mention all the great friends I made. They helped me get through the tough times that rarely occurred.
I honestly couldn't have asked for a better summer. I'm beyond glad that I was given the chance to be apart of something so great, and I'm glad it was this season. Getting a silver medal and a drum title was well worth the hard work. Although we didn't win gold, we fought hard for it and deserved what we earned in the end. Congratulations to the Oregon Crusaders for the championship title this year.
What made my season even better was concluding it at DCI World Championships in Indy. Watching all the world class groups in person for the first time ever was nearly a dream come true for me. Then watching my very close friends age out doing what they love and seeing them so happy was even better. I couldn't be happier for them and I hope to get to experience what they did. Being there to see my homie Keelan win his last title and taking drums was the best for me. Congrats to him and the rest of the A corps.
That's my post tour blues post, I suppose. I miss it dearly already.
