And I can recognize him ON SIGHT AND VOICE ALONE. EITHER OR. BOTH AT THE SAME TIME. I KNOW ITS HIM. AND I KNOW IF ITS HIS ROOM. I KNOW IF HE DID SOMETHING FOR THE GIRL. He has. A GOD DAMN PERSONALITY.

ANd he aint just a flat deadpan snarker who occaisionally punches The Bad Guy Who is a Bigger Pervert Than Him. He has fucking hobby. He gets more hobbies thanks to the girl. I've learned so much and am so fascinated by hina dolls and cosplay and anime genres now. I even recognize the references.

And he is so polite? Almost to a point of acting like your stereotypical main girl? He is so dorky? He is so interesting? HE IS ACTUALLY GOOD LOOKING BUT IN A PLAIN WAY THAT FITS HIS CHARACTER AND BACKGROUND? IN FACT. HIS CHARACTER FITS HIS BACKGROUND??? EVERYTHING MESHES TOGETHER SO FUCKING WELL.

ANd the main girl. She is NOT just boobs. She is NOT JUST "oh teehee! Darling-kun no baka!!" SHE IS FUCKING INTERESTING. She is so passionate. She is so dedicated. SHe is clumsy but it still manages to work out because she IS NOT BURNING THE HOUSE DOWN OR KILLING PEOPLE. In fact, her soft skills. Her people skills. Her acting. Her posing. Her attention to detail about the things she loves. It's not the same as Gojou's. WHICH IS GOOD BECAUSE IT ADDS SO MUCH. WE LEARN WHY SHE LIKES THEM. WE LEARN ABOUT HER AND THE THINGS SHE LIKES.

AND HARDLY ANYONE IN THIS ANIME IS A FUCKING ASSHOLE??? YOU MEAN 99% OF THE CHARACTERS ARE GOD DAMN SWEETHEARTS? AND HALF OF THEM ARE MEN WHO ARE ALSO GOOD LOOKING. You know instead of making them all old creeps or plain looking or insanely ugly just to make the MC (AKA the audience surrogate) feel like they have a chance with an insanely pretty girl. The good loooking males are EVEN FRIENDS WITH THE MC. THE BECOME FRIENDS. THERE IS NO NEEDLESS COMPETITION. BECAUSE MARIN. THE GIRL. IS UNDENIABLY, AND BELIEVABLY AND UNDERSTANDABLY, ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH GOJOU.

There is NO POINTLESS JEALOUSY. NO EROTIC SCENES THAT UNDERCUT SHIT OR RUIN THE TONE. NO HALF HEARTED TROPES JUST TO CHECK THINGS OFF OF A LIST. NO FLAT CHARACTERS. NO LACK OF WORLD BUILDING. NO LACK OF ACTUAL, TRUE ROMANCE.
