HIGH TYDE GIG REVIEW

15th March, London’s The Dome is buzzing and packed full of regular gig-goers (most sporting a pair of Old Skool Vans) waiting for High Tyde, an indie-pop quartet from Brighton.

The vibe is ultimately laid back and friendly, already setting the tone for the headlining band’s set that was to come. There was space if you wanted to chill at the back, but also every opportunity to get involved in the pits - an award winning combo. By the time High Tyde hit the stage the crowd are pumped and ready to go, with credit to supporting acts Indigo Husk and The Pale White (10/10 would recommend giving them both a listen, their Spotify’s are linked below).

9:15pm, High Tyde bounce onto the stage with their newest song Keep On and keep the crowd energetically moshing, crowd surfing and screaming back lyrics right until the end of the set when the band perform a fan favourite, and absolute banger, Dark Love. Throughout the set it was clear that the connection between the band, especially lead singer and bassist Cody Thomas-Matthews, and the crowd was very strong and that both were there to let loose and enjoy themselves; the performance of Dark Love was topped off by Matthews stage diving into the sea of cheering fans.

This being my second time seeing High Tyde proved to me how sick the band are live and only made me want to see them again ASAP. There’s literally nothing better than a band who sound even better live than they do through your headphones!!

So as a whole, in case I hadn’t said it enough already, High Tyde were bloody sick and made me want to see them live over and over again.

High Tyde - Gig review.

After seeing High Tyde perform as supporting acts at The HUNNA back in January, I just knew I had to go and see them again! firstly, their music is great, if you don't listen to them, you need to.

Their mini tour of the UK started in Manchester and lets just say, the photos and videos I had seen upcoming to my gig really set the bar high. The london date I attended was at The Dome in Tufnell park, and having not been to this venue before, I really enjoyed it.

Now onto the actual gig. AMAZING. The crowd had a great atmosphere, and the performance was insane. The vocals were all on-point and I loved the little pre-recorded speech during the gaps in-between songs. I couldn't even complain about the front of house and the sound, even they did a perfect job. My only problem would be the length of their setlist, having only been on stage for 45 minutes before leaving us with the last song. Although they played all my favourites, I would’ve loved to see them be on stage for a little longer (low-key happy though as it mean’t I got home earlier).

Overall, if you could’ve gone to the show and you didn’t, you missed out big time. And if you don't know who high tyde are, you also are missing out big time. I cant wait to see more of them around, and hopefully go to another one of their gigs soon!
