How to look high-maintenance on a budget
We all love to look good, but the way these stylist's prices are looking in Atlanta, I'm about to start doing everything myself 🥲 This post is for my budget friendly girls, for girls who are high maintenance but can't afford to spend an arm & a leg on their appearance right now.
I know we all love a fresh weave, but who's about to pay $300-$1000 for a wig??? (I don't wear them anyways, but still) sew-ins are making a comeback anyway. They're a perfect alternative to tape ins & microlinks and they retail for about $70-$100, they look more natural & are low maintenance with the proper care compared to wigs. Another one of my favs are clip-ins, I just found out about this brand of clip-ins on TikTok which I will be trying next week. The brand is called "Zury Sis Natural Dream", it gives you a silk press texture of hair and retails for $30 at your local beauty supply.
Nowadays, these nail salons are TAXING GIRL.....TAXINGGGGG. Lately, I've been paying $140-$180 for a full set and pedicure. Like a dummy. Now, if you're like me, when I go to the nail salon I usually get the spa treatment when it comes to my pedicure which usually retails for $65 and a full set which prices may vary depending on what all you get. I usually get the basics, short frenchies with gel polish on my nails and toes...how is that adding up to $180 sis?
So, a good alternative & to also give your nails a break from the harsh chemicals of acrylic is press-ons & lately, the girls have been killing the game. My favorites are the Kiss Natural & Kiss Gel Fantasy press ons. You could leave them as is, or get your favorite gel polish and a LED lamp and customize them. Once you apply & cure them just like in the nail salon, they could last you for up to 2 weeks. The Gel Fantasy collection already comes in many different colors & designs. Both of these products range from $6-$8.
Just like you can do your nails & hair at home, you can do your lashes as well. Yes girl, save those coins. Now, there are 2 types of different lashes that you can buy to do your lashes. The first type would be the individual lashes that the professionals use and you make your own fans. The second is the pre-made fans that are usually sold in the stores. If you know how to make your own fans, then go for it. If you're like me & new to this, the second option would be best.
Along next to the lashes, you would need a good tweezer set, glue, & a mini lash fan. All of these things can be found on Amazon, just like the lashes. I actually just did my own lashes today which inspired me to write this post, and they came out bomb. Everything I used will be linked below! 💕
