Lindsey had everything she needed in Toni. A big sister, a confidant, a protector. So when Toni found a new church group, Lindsey supported her, even though the services never spoke to Lindsey personally. Slowly, she began to realise that Toni was more invested in the church than Lindsey first realised, and that the group had some strange practices and beliefs. This soon turned to true concern when Toni accepted the position of deaconess and moved into the church with her husband and child. Lindsey was patient. Never judgemental. Always kept contact and would visit unannounced. When Toni was ready to leave, Lindsey was there to hold her hand and guide her home.
