WHYYYYYY ARE THE JEHOVAHS WITNESSES ON INSTAGRAM AND TIKTOK NOW GET OUT OF MY HOUSE
Hello to my fellow exmos and pimos, regardless of what your family says to you today as a result of general conference your reasons for leaving/wanting to leave are valid and you're not a bad person, you're not going to suffer, you'll be fine. It's okay. They don't get to decide if you get to be happy or if you get to be upset.
Also to all the LGBTQ mormons who will receive a lot of homophobia and transphobia today and tommorrow, I love you and I want to remind you that church leadership doesn't get to choose who you love or who you are. it is okay to love the same sex. it is okay to not want to be the gender people know you as. it's okay to be aroace and to not want to get married. It's okay to be anywhere under the LGBTQ unbrella. You aren't evil. You aren't wrong. There is nothing wrong with you.
*holds you all so so so gently* it is okay to not be okay today. Stay safe.
I won't be watching conference, but if anyone wants someone to live react to things that are said or vent abt them my asks are open.

Wearing the shirt i made in mormonville wyoming
on this the day before general conference I would like to wish all pimo youths good luck emotionally surviving yet another homophobic transphobic racist old white guy panel. here's a picture of oaks next to a picture of a tortoise. stay safe out there
I was talking about the 1800s with my Very Mormon Coworker (the original conversation was explaining the history of the social prejudice against hemp & marijuana and how white people would make the claim that marijuana caused black people to “thirst for white blood”) and I ended with saying something like “yeah… the 1800s were a wild and lawless time where pretty much anyone could say anything.”
And my coworkers response was “yeah… and yet, that’s when Joseph Smith restored God’s True Church to the earth.”
And in my head I’m just screaming, “bro—you are SO CLOSE to getting it!”
A talk on not giving up on those who leave and hoping/waiting for them to return.
What a joke.
First of all, the day I marry my fiancee, the church will be more than gleeful to kick us out because we're lesbians. The church isn't welcoming of those who leave. It isn't welcoming to those of us who stay.
Talks like this infantize those who leave. We haven't lost any light. PIMOs are proof that the church can't tell who has left the faith and who hasn't.
Until the church is actually open to all, like Jesus would be welcoming to all, then less people will return.
Something shitty about growing up Mormon and having intrusive thoughts is growing up being told "You'll be judged based on your thoughts, you're evil and going to telestial / outer darkness-" (basically hell) "-if you think [insert list of things that are "impure" or "evil" or whatever]"
Like. You can probably tell how that's really bad.
