While Leon and Rudy are simliar in personality, theres one key difference that makes me appreciate Rudys character a bit more, and that is that hes emotionally more mature.
That singular trait makes him a better friend and a better captain in my opinion.
Rudy always has four stages of handling conflict.
1. He acts up.
2. He realizes his mistakes.
3. He apologizes.
4. He makes up for it.
And that is exactly the healthy way of solving a conflict, we see him doing this everytime something happens between him and his friends.
After lashing out on Leo:
After he was doubting Stellas position as a captain:
And thats exactly what Leon is missing. He realizes his mistakes, but never fully apologizes for them.
"Thanks coach", while immediately assuming that Willi is willing to train them again after being sent away.
