Hey I'm just curious, I see you reblog a lot about problematic pairings etc, do you often receive hate about it?

I am exceedingly happy to say that I do not, but I know that I am a rare case who is somehow managing to dodge the flying bullets. The very occasional nasty comment will arise, but if made public, it tends to be that the fandom leaps to my defence! I just reblog those posts because I think they’re important, and I know not everyone is in such a forgiving position as I am. 

A subtlety in life that I think is often lost is this: it is possible to talk about problematic things without becoming problematic yourself. It is possible to be decisive, but not dismissive. It comes through tone, through being able to patiently, intelligently, and comprehensively lay out an argument, or to answer a question without becoming all riled and flustered and saying something that you don’t entirely mean. A little consideration, both of oneself and of others, tends to go a long way in this world!

I very nearly did get trapped in Newcastle by inclement weather (read: there was a bit of frost on the lines so naturally the entire English rail system panicked) but I made good my escape! And upon my return found a tag from @highwaytothecage, thanks! :D

What was the last book you read? I’m doing that douchebag thing of simultaneously reading like three things so House of Leaves, by Mark Danielewski; Hellbent, by Anthony McGowan, and Early Mammals from the Age of Dinosaurs, by Zofia Kielan-Jarowowska et al.

What was the last thing you ate and when? Pasta with green pesto, for lunch.

Favourite animal? Horse!

Dream job? Regardless of practicabillity and constraints. Billionaire. Do you have a fav stuffed animal or plushie? Colin, my feathered velociraptor!  

Do you like where you live right now or would you prefer to move? I’m quite happy where I am right now, though at some point or another I’m sure I’ll end up moving (or being kicked out of the country :/ )

Dragons or unicorns? Dragons!

Dream vacations/travelling destination? Horseriding tour of the LotR sets in New Zealand, horseriding tour of the Mongolian steppes, Iceland (Round Two!), Patagonia... Give me adventures!

Favourite disney movie?  The Emperor’s New Groove OR Treasure Planet

Long nails or short nails? Short. Old horseriding habits die hard, even though I don’t do it half so much anymore and I could grow my nails out without care. Is there something (a song, a book, a movie, anything) that you like even though in all logic you should not ? (because it’s not really relevant to your usual interests, it contains everything you don’t like or it’s just plain stupid, or really anything?) Probably the film, ‘The Martian’. I’m normally not into space films at all but this one was really really good and I enjoyed it a lot! Oh and I guess song-wise, probably ‘Jack Sparrow’, by The Lonely Island. That song is ridiculous in every fantastic way and I unashamedly love it because it always makes me laugh :P

No bother at all. You can find them here. I only saw a few of them because I want the French-language versions, but this blog has all the episodes that appeared so far, including the Korean ones.

About the LaCE debate: (I haven't read HoME so this is only speculation on my part) Maybe the deception didn't work, but would someone say something? Or would people just act as if they noticed nothing? And then what we know about the FA and its people is seen through History's lens so do we really *know* of things like that, that X and X friendship was actually romantic? It's played no role on History so is there a real accuracy? (But I actually think that Barbossa's way is the way to go too)

Hmm, well I’d say that if the eldest prince of Fëanor’s house suddenly changed his fëa status from ‘single’ to ‘married’, people might have a few enquiries! Of course, there’s no way to really know what happened throughout the First Age - unless it was directly recorded in the Silmarillion or the Histories (which can still be interpreted very loosely!) So I guess accuracy is what you make of it!
