Hello! For the chibi speed paint, what brush did you use for the leaves? It looked like you could paint a size and then warp it? I haven't seen that in a brush :0

hi! i'm not quite sure what you mean by warp, but honestly I only used a basic hard round brush and erased and/or adjusted the size to get the shape I wanted. here's a rly quick demo:

Have you ever wondered what if Byleth brought a dragonstone back from her time in Askr, and Seteth or Flayn were able to transform into their dragon selves again? I think about this a lot.

Iirc Seteth mentions in SS that he lost the ability to transform somehow, but i would love to have seem Flayn become a big ol dragon. It woulda been great

I saw a post recently where you tagged that some people don't understand what makes a tragedy a tragedy, I wanted to ask if you could explain? Because it got me thinking of maybe I don't understand a tragedy once I started to pick it apart.

That was just me having my daily snark at people who have a really weird takes about the Oresteia, although I suppose this is a problem you do tend to see in other more modern adaptions of classic tragedies. Basically my ongoing issue is that one of the strongest elements of this kind of tragedy is that it tends to be avoidable from the outside (to the reader) while it is unavoidable from the inside (to the cast). That is why it is so completely and absolutely Asinine when people read classic tragedies and are like “If -I- was this man i just like. Wouldn’t have done that” Ok girl you and everyone else, but the whole point is that the character couldn’t make that choice for one reason another, typically due to Fate or the Gods in classic tragedies (wild that so many modern takes are just like “yeah well I’d just tell god no” which is proof people just. write words without actually thinking them through). That inevitable element is a large part of what makes it tragic. If the tragedy could have been reasonably avoided, then it’s just a basic sad story if not a poorly written one. Another element of a tragedy is that one of the main characters will be brought down by their own flaws/mistake... so saying stuff like “This is a bad character bc he’s flawed” is just. ?????. Up there with ‘the romance is bad because the characters are in love”. And this is getting a little more specific to the set of stories I was referring to, but to make it as general as possible, family that was always unhappy --> family that gets even unhappier is Not a tragedy. Again, just a sad story. VS Family that was happy --> family (through the inevitable pull of the plot) ends up destroying one another = tragedy.

Your Leon/Sonia headcanons have watered my crops and cleared my skin. Do you have more? Like maybe before Leon became champion, or after Hop helps as his assistance (also do you think that Yamper reflects how Sonia feels about her growth, unevolved whereas she witnessed Leon's Charmander grow into a powerful Charizard? And yet still helping him find his way?)

OH I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT THE YAMPER THING!!!!!! THATS SUCH GOOD SYMBOLISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (i would love a scene where during a sticky situation her yamper evolves to protect her and during the same time she gains more confidence in herself to symbolize her growth as a person!!! 😭😭😭😭)

HERES SOME HCS I HAVE SO FAR THOUGH:

- sonia used to just lead leon places and he would follow her, but his sense of direction got so bad that as he would follow her he would somehow (???) still get lost??? like shed turn around and hes GONE, and gets a text 2 seconds later from leon like “im at the pkmn center where did you go” and shes just “?????????”

- so now she literally grabs his hand to not lose him

- before he became champion while they were adventuring galar together sonia would always get texts from leon like “im lost in glimwood tangle pls help” (she still gets texts like this from him sometimes)

- he always buys her food to apologize for the inconvenience/trouble 👀

- during their NEW adventures (same time as hop/glorias journey) leon is very protective of her. he never was before but since she doesnt battle anymore hes CONSTANTLY protective

- they always end up chasing down some dynamaxing anomaly. they dont always go together but almost EVERY TIME leon shows up and theres sonia, running and hiding from the big ass scary pokemon while trying to get all her research data/notes

- q leon over there yelling at her to watch out for herself more

- after the fact he tries scolding her, but she gets so excited about all her research notes and data collection, and she looks SO happy beaming and giddy telling leon he just. stops being mad. like 2 seconds later hes just watching her be cute and letting her talk his ears off about it

- sometimes they both stay at a hotel/pokemon center for various reasons. 👀 they just end up stuck there together. they go get ice cream and burgers and just chill waiting for the storm to pass watching disney movies

- they reconnected surprisingly well!! even though after lee became champion he didnt have a lot of time to visit home or visit sonia so they kind of fell out of touch a little bit, their friendship sparked back up like nothing!!!!

- sonia is the only person to ever defeat leon in a battle (before gloria). which is why in his desc. it says “Never defeated in an official battle” - because sonia defeated him in one of their casual on-the-road battles. 

- it was right after the ballonlea gym, and sonia was particularly stressed about not getting a lot of the quiz answers right, and worried about becoming a good trainer, when she runs into leon and they have a battle. 

- i dont know how she defeated 10 year old leon?? it was just one of those unlucky days for him. she actually forgot she beat him once because losing in the finals is the only significant battle with him she really ingrained

- but ANYWAY, this bugs him forever. to this day anytime anyone says “Hey!! It’s Leon, the undefeated champion!!” hes like “Yeah!!” but inside hes like “no.” (he wont tell anyone else about losing to sonia)

- he refers to sonia as his favorite rival. shes just “??? isntraihan your favorite rival?” with this face of disbelief and he just smirks and says “No hes my STRONGEST rival, not my favorite.” and she gets flustered. raihans never beat leon in a battle. sonia has

- eventually, sonia does get back into battling when leon takes over the battle tower!! since all the pokemon are set to level 50 and it relies on strategy. I THINK SHE BEATS HIM AGAIN HERE
