My dad is in town so I took him on my absolute favorite hike on the Oregon Coast.

I am now deceased, however, because there were so many roots on the trail that it felt more like climbing stairs than hiking 😂

The walk was lovely! I was expecting a bit more woods instead of park vibes but I petted 4 dogs and saw even more. The coolest things were ducks just chilling on a small piece of ice and the mushrooms on the tree.

We think that the mushroom originally started at the top and then the rain slowly crippled the spores further down. The main piece of evidence there here is that the spores are kind of curving around the tree as the wind would blow water around. What do you think?

Today we’re going on a long walk in the woods! I’ve been looking forward to this for weeks and now is finally the day! The tea is hot in my flask, the trees are whispering my name and I hear the ground calling to me.

This is going to be a good day!
