naturally, yamaguchi was not happy about the other’s presence. anyone who was in the original group -- ishigaki’s group -- didn’t take very well to the men midousuji brought into their new group. already apathetic to being on a ‘team’ of some sorts, he really didn’t care for the blue haired man. especially not in this moment -- the last thing that he needed was a little snitch watching his crimes. he would certainly hold this over his head whenever it was convenient. though . . . if he tried that, the church wouldn’t be the only thing lit up tonight.
he didn’t believe it for a second when the other said he was concerned about him getting in trouble. his gaze stayed fixed, blankly staring at the gas can instead of giving the other an ounce of his attention. picking it up once more, he started to pour it on the steps, slowly making his way to the side of the church. “ watch the cigarette if you’re so worried. “ he certainly wasn’t concerned about the other’s safety -- he simply didn’t want the job to be half assed. if he didn’t do it correctly, he might end up only damaging a HALF the church. he wanted the whole thing gone.
“ don’t ever follow me again, or else you’ll end up getting yourself into things you’re not ready for. “ to yamaguchi, komari was hardly even a real gang member. he was just some unfortunate guy trying to pay his way throughout college. while he could completely understand the need for money -- he wasn’t sure if the other was making a smart decision working under midousuji’s wing. not even yamaguchi did that. he was still loyal to ishigaki & secondly to tsuji. there was no room for midousuji’s in his heart -- & not for any of his second - rate lackeys either.
he wasn’t sure just how much he could trust that the other was willing to keep this between the two of them. telling midousuji seemed like a good way to keep him pressed further underneath the man’s heel. “ how do i know that? “ finally, after a few minutes, he decided he would drop the topic. it wasn’t important anyways, he was far too deep into this to simply walk away without dropping a match in his tracks. continuing to pour the gasoline in a line around the front of the building, he suddenly stopped -- tilting the canister up so fast that the remaining liquid sloshed around violently within. “ what? “ suicide? oh -- it seemed there was far more than one misunderstanding here. a soft snort came from the man, his shoulders trembling ever - so - slightly in silent laughter. turning around to face the other after his silent laughing fit, a gave a crooked grin. “ i’m not trying to kill myself. what a bold assumption. “ hardly giving more of an explanation than that, he continued to spread the flammable liquid around.
once he felt he did well enough dousing the area in gasoline, he stood next to the man & looked at the building one last time. it was nothing sentimental -- just simply a last look. “ step back. “ yamaguchi warned, pulling a match out of the pack & began to strike it. looking back to make sure that komari listened to him, he then threw the lit match to the gasoline -- watching as the building was rapidly engulfed in flames.
he knew that they could only sit & admire for mere moments -- had they stuck around too long, the authorities would arrive with them still on the scene. it didn’t seem to take long, hearing sirens in the distance shook him out of his blissful moment. “ we have to go. “ starting off towards his bike -- he looked back at komari. if he didn’t follow quick enough? well, that wouldn’t be yamaguchi’s problem.
