ophelia’s dad was a total 90s heartthrob. a former child actor who had been plucked from complete obscurity by a talent scout in long beach. think: equivalent of a former mickey mouse club member who took some more serious roles as he grew older, posters on teen girls bedroom walls across the nation he even once capitalised on the love and adoration and had a single titled ‘ready for your love’ by the age of nineteen.
her mother... was a complete nobody in the eyes of the media. her parents had grown up on the same street and somehow kept in contact even when her dad’s career catapulted to new heights. he’d invited her along for a few weeks at a beach house he was renting in hilton hills whern their friendship developed into something more in between the deep talks and late nights spent on the beach. ophelia followed along 9 months later and the headlines weren’t so kind.

by the time she turned ten, kaia’s father filed for divorce. he tried to downplay the situation as best as he could to his children, but the real reasons became front page news when he decided to sit down for an interview. it was during this interview that tayn mentioned how he couldn’t stay married to someone who’s politics pushed white supremacist theories, which ultimately put him & his children at risk due to their maori background. after he walked out of the divorce with eight billion, he moved back to new zealand. no matter how he felt about his ex wife’s politics, he felt as if the children staying in her primary custody was in their best interest. he couldn’t expect them to abandon their lives in sydney & new york to live in new zealand.

born to teenagers in south korea who decided they weren’t ready to be parents , seong miyoung became a child of the system and eventually adopted by a wonderful lgbtq+ couple from new york at the age of three . upon arriving at her new home , she was blessed with her new american name : bailee weiss . growing up , bailee obviously knew that she was adopted , but it was something she didn’t willingly go around sharing with people , because to her the family she had was the only family she had ever had and / or needed .
bailee started to show an interest in art from a very young age , coloring a wide range of pictures for her moms starting at the age of five . her artistic expression only grew more when she reached middle school and was allowed to choose an art class as her elective . by the time she was in high school , art had become a part of bailee’s personality . she would often find herself creating paintings for her friends just because she wanted to and even a couple teachers had some of her pieces hanging in their classrooms .
