Notte Bianca

  For the consecutive seventh year, the Notte Bianca will be held in every area of Valletta on the 5th of October. It is expected to be even more spectacular, night-long celebration of culture and the arts in Malta’s capital. All the streets and cultural venues in Valletta will come alive with a full programme of entertainment designed to hold something of appeal for everyone.

  The doors of all cultural venues and state palaces will open almost all night with no entrance cost, with many playing host to visual art exhibitions, dance and theatre performances. Streets and squares become venues for open-air concerts, while many cafes and restaurants extend their hours and also run pavement stalls.

  Notte Biance promises an unforgettable evening of art, culture and much more. The capital is transformed into a city-wide festive gathering, including music, dance, film and theatre performances providing space for both local and international artists to be appreciated by the general public throughout the night.

  ‘Science In The City’; the name of Malta’s science and art festival is on for the second consecutive year. The Festival is taking place tonight the 27th in Valletta from 6pm onwards.

  The aim of this festival is to provide a yearly focus for creatives and scientists to collaborate together on projects and to let the minds of the audiences wonder more about such experiments.

  Valletta will host an eventful evening for all the family. The city is all set with graffiti art, street art installations, live experiments, art exhibitions, music concerts, talks and much more. Entrance is free.

  All activities will take place from the Upper Barrakka and St James Cavalier, down to Merchant Street and Republic Street to St George’s Square and the Old Market.

The Malta International Air Show

This is one of the largest outdoor events in Malta, which is held annually each September at the Malta International Airport. It all started way back in September 1993 when the Maltese skies were taken over by the spectacular aerial show.

Twenty years after, and the event is still awaited by most of the locals and foreigners. The only difference is that the airshow has grown not only in numbers but also in quality. Over the years, the Malta International Airshow has attracted many interesting aircraft including Israeli F-15s and F-16s, Czech L-39, Italian F-104s and Do-228, Ex-Israeli A-4 Skyhawks, US Navy F-14, EA-6B, S-3s, F-18s, Tornados, B-52, B-1B, Spitfire and Hurricane plus most of the European national display teams including the Red Arrows (the group is staying at the Hilton again this year), Patrouille de France, Frecce Tricolori, the Spanish team Patruila Aguoila, Swiss PC-7 Team, Breitling Jet Team, and many other types of aircraft from all over the world. 

Here are the details of the event:

Dates: 28 and 29 of September

Gates Open: 10:00 – 17:.30 on the Ħal Farruġ Road, Ħal Luqa. 

Entry Ticket: €12, children 14 years and under enter for free.  Tickets are available at the Airshow Gates on the day.  Aerial Display starts at 13:30.  Parking is free. 

Food and Drinks are available on airshow grounds.
