MY SHAYLAAAAA (punching walls)

Do you think Elsa believe in what she saw or just took advantage of it to make something of herself in her town? Elsa’s answer to the director about constantly changing what dream job she wanted to have over the years until she realized she was poor and Nimia talking about when Elsa set her mind to something she will never stop to get it cast her (Elsa) scenes in a different light for me.
GOD!!! the way i fully believed her the first time during the eclipse. despite like the themes.
anyway. given the following things
1) nimia describing elsa as the most cerebral of the friend group. and chayo, the most religious one, being her enabler
2) the rest of her town(people who influenced her upbringing) being very superstitious in general
3) the constant motif of people mythologizing a living corporeal girl in front of them (hehe to quote mr. ricky lees answer. minsan mas maganda yung wala. imagination creates something even better)
4) the social context for this being post martial law, cory magic era.......🙃
i feel i am led to assume there was never anything. but i like to interpret it for myself as a girl from a superstitious backwater trying to feel something and it blowing out of anyones control
minsan maganda yung wala. imagination creates something better than you could ever write..........🤪
