Old world charm to find the solitude in Himalayan village amidst the clouds! Life is about little #discoveries and this village in #Dalhousie, a tiny #hamlet in the upper #Chamba region of #Himayalas is one of them. The Himalayas are a popular place to relax and unwind in fresh #mountain air. These #Himalayan village #getaways will take you off the beaten track and away from the crowds. They offer a range of activities for #enjoying the great #outdoors. Some of the villages have #cottages with multiple bedrooms, making them the perfect escape for groups of #friends or #families. Eric Valli is no day-tripper
And that's a great thing. Coming from the hard-worker's school of photography (back in the days when magazines had photography budgets), Eric has travelled to meet some of the least visited and most interesting peoples on the planet, and has spent serious time getting to know them. This allows him to make an honest, insightful and respectful document of the way they spend their time on Earth, where some photographers would bring their own preconceptions to the table and impose them onto their work, leaving after a few days.
His photographs have an elegant minimalism and they fully exploit the dynamic range of 35mm film. His portraits never seem to sensationalise the humdrum as many 'street' photographers try to, and his restrained palettes and uncluttered compositions recall the very best of fashion photography.
We'd love to redesign Eric's site, so if you do happen to see this Eric then feel free to get in touch!
