🙈I was gonna say that a majority of ppl when talking about Percy and Nico's relationship in the beginning of things forget that Percy was like 13 at the time of when Bianca died?? It's like they try to hold Percy solely accountable for Nico's ostracization in camp but fail to account for the fact that Percy was just as much as a kid as Nico was at the time. Like what were you doing at 13? Me at 13 I just learned how to make spaghetti without killing myself.

nor am I saying it's Nico's fault either, but he was a 10 year old being a 10 year old asking an impossible promise. What this means is that it literally wasn't up to Percy whether or not Bianca died, and he just as much grieved over the death of Bianca. Percy accepted this promise bc like what the fuck else was he suppose to do?? he's 13. I cried when someone put a post it note on my locker that said ur nice. 13 year olds are not handling life well!!! Now imagine being a 13 year old demigod and you just saw your best friend get thrown off a fucking cliff and captured by enemies and you're not allowed to go on this quest and some 10 year old you just met like not even a couple days ago asks you you to protect his sister when shes the same age as you and in an immortal fighting group I'd be like shit!!!

I recognize this doesn't make a lot of sense, but what I'm saying is that I don't think it's fair to solely blame Percy for how Nico turns out to be later on in the series. Percy did his best and he tried to help him, they even became friends @ the end of PJO. While Percy does have some contribution to this, if only because Nico was dealing with his grief in 10 year old fashion (I can relate I lost my great grandpa in 8th grade that was messed up) he's not the sole one that isolated Nico.

I know it's not that big of a deal but I hate when I see posts that act like Percy is the only one that treated Nico like shit when,,, Percy didnt treat him like that!! Shit was just awkward between them and HOO just screwed up they relationship in the first place but that's another time!!!
