Here are some of my favourite things: elves and old love tragedies.
Ok I had to make this post for my darling sweethearts Mithari and Bull, and their 5 little Qunlets since I figured out their names finally!
Their firstborn is Meraad! His name means ‘sea’, after his strikingly blue eyes at birth. He’s pretty much Bull’s twin, except with greyish-white hair and a surprisingly dainty nose. He was born shortly before the expedition into the Deep Roads, which prompted Bull to figure out how to use a sling and carry little baby Meraad with him, strapped to his back, in combat - of course with Ari watching over them both. Lovingly dubbed The Iron Calf by Varric in his infancy, he lived up to the nickname - having trained with some of the finest warriors in Thedas, he quickly gained a reputation for prowess in combat. Nowadays, he spends his time trying to wrangle his siblings and keep the twins in line, though he does have aspirations to run his own mercenary company someday, like his father.
Then came their second child, Taashath! His name means ‘calm’, because he almost never cried as a baby(which was handy, since they also had a toddler to care for at the time). He closely resembles his older brother, with almost the same shade of hair and eyes(both are slightly darker). He was born in the Frostback Basin, and Bull loves to tell the story of how Dorian nearly fainted when he heard Ari giving birth. His appetite is legendary and insatiable, as are his sleeping habits.
Sataa comes next! Their first daughter, her name means ‘the world’; a reference to her mamae’s habit of saving Thedas. She’s the spitting image of Ari, white-blonde hair and dainty elven features, except for a few key differences - fade-green eyes, pale white horns(which earned her the nickname Little Halla), and magic. She was born shortly after Ari’s goodbye to Solas, and it’s theorized that her exposure to the Anchor’s magic in the womb caused her unique appearance and magical abilities. She studied with her favorite uncle Dorian for a time when he came back for a visit, but as a favor to her parents, First Enchanter Vivienne took her on as her apprentice. We can only speculate as to how that will go.
And finally, the twins! Adhlea and Himsulem. Their names mean, respectively, ‘light of dawn’ and ‘he who brings change’(nicknamed Lea and 'Lem, for convenience). They’re the only Qunlets to carry elven names, but Ari finally decided to embrace her heritage and give her descendants something to remember their elven lineage by. Adhlea, their second daughter, has Bull’s grey-green eyes and black hair. Himsulem, their youngest son, has black hair and dark blue eyes. They’re still quite young, but already have a reputation for mischief. Bull takes immense pride in his little spies in training, and though Ari doesn’t like it very much when they steal official letters from her desk and pretend-interrogate her on their contents, it’s adorable subterfuge(and they both love it).
*Himsulem*
Dalish fan character from Out Of the Blue, also known as Interruption/Improvisation Guy by Alva (take extra note of his “I didn’t do it” face in the last screenshot).
Dalish hunter full of tricks up his sleeves, suave and charming and with the perfect doe eyes with which to persuade soft-hearted women (which allowed his clan to establish trade with humans, among other things). Half-brother of Rasanor.
