i don't really have favorite pokemon per se but i've always been drawn to the ones that have a mystical and melancholic feel to them and also the ones that have been so essential to my teams lol
1) dragonite. it was always a staple in my team and its abilities were unmatched....i'd grind my dratini as hard as i could bc that was the only way i could beat cynthia’s garchomp (her whole team but esp her garchomp....). having a strong dragon type honestly made me feel invincible. dragonite and empolen were the two powerhouses of my team. also it's shaped like friend
2) piplup my beloved starter <3 water starter superiority
3) absol. something about how it can detect natural disasters with its horn before fleeing into the mountains gives it such a tragic feel.....and the fact that it's seen as a harbinger of doom.....absol get behind me.
4) gardevoir. i always loved gardevoir’s ethereal vibe and the flowy dress and the fact that it can see the future and will give up its life for its trainer.....
5) gothitelle. first of all the design is serving so much cunt second of all: “...unleashes psychic energy and shows opponents dreams of the universe’s end. these dreams are apparently ethereal and beautiful. it acts somewhat detached because it has seen the end of all existence.” hello????? pokemon plagued by beautiful devastating apocalyptic knowledge??? sign me UP

Aries: Aoi Todo
I don’t even have proper reasoning for this it’s just the vibes he gives off. It’s a gut feeling. Aries are competitive, strong leaders, like challenge and direction, and can be impulsive and hot headed. They’re trailblazers and they have a lot of energy. He just feels like an Aries to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Taurus: Miwa Kasumi
I flip flop on her sign so much, sometimes I think she’s a Gemini but other times her earth sign vibes win out for me... I feel like Taurus fits her, she’s actually very dependable and hard working and creative (even though she calls herself useless 🥺 she’s wrong 🥺). They haven’t shown up in the anime yet so maybe this is cheating but they give me Gemini vibes... they’ve got air sign energy imo and out of the air signs Gemini definitely fits them best. Also not 2 stereotype twice in a row but they’re talkative and knowledgeable and individualistic and they move between ideas quickly, it’s the Gemini in them
Cancer: Nanami Kento
I was this 🤏 close to assigning him Taurus because he too feels like an earth sign and also because Taurus is simply a top tier sign. But then I think about the way he interacts with Yuuji or the scenes of him in the bakery and I’m just like. That’s a Cancer for sure. Again, no real justification here it’s just about the vibes
Leo: Kugisaki Nobara
Nobara!!! I love her!!! We already know her birthday is august 7th so I don’t have to guess with this one, but also, who could witness her ‘I love myself when I’m dressed up and pretty and I love myself when I’m strong, I’m kugusaki nobara’ moment and come away thinking she’s anything other than a Leo 😌 That confidence and flair!! This is another of those gut feelings that I just can’t explain... virgos are cool headed and analytical and meticulous, they are neat n tidy, they have a bit of a perfectionist streak, and they can also be a sharp critic. I feel like Kamo is probably like this.

I know I know it looks like a cop out to diagnose the goth looking kid with Scorpio but I did actually think about this one. Scorpios tend to be private, possess hidden reserves of strength, bond wholeheartedly with the people they like, and loyal to a fault. Also when they snap they really do Go Off. He’s got Scorpio vibes and I appreciate him for it
Sagittarius: Gojou Satoru
His birthday is December 7th so I don’t have to guess but even if I didn’t know his bday I would still assign him sag. His birthday is December 22 so he is a confirmed cap!! I said it on my other astrology post but he really gives off capricorn vibes - practical, reserved, loyal, ambitious and tenacious, possessing a dry wit, capable of putting in steady hard work to get to where he wants to be. He rly made me love Capricorns tbh 💖
Aquarius: Getou Suguru
While I would LOVE to go on a full rant about why I’m 100% convinced he’s aquarius, that rant would be filled with spoilers, so I shall refrain. The short no spoilers version is that Aquarius is deeply humanitarian; rebellious; argumentative; flexible and open about all ideas except for the ones they’re completely dogmatic about; processes feelings (or fails to) through thought and isolation... it’s Getou. Pisces: Itadori Yuuji
I seriously adore the idea of pisces Yuuji, and he was born March 20th so it’s canon! Pisces are very empathetic and sensitive, they tend have good emotional intelligence, they are generous. But also, they are said to be called to make sacrifices during their lifetime, and they have to be careful to not let the heavy weight of the world’s troubles wear them down. Anyway Yuuji is literally sacrificing his life to eat Sukuna’s fingers, he cares So Much about helping others and easing their pain, his experiences often burden him but he tries to keep his heart open through it all... Pisces Yuuji makes me go crazy go stupid
