okay first and foremost who the fuck was that guy at the end 😭 there’s no sign of him in the preview for the next episode so??? Based on the background music when he was introduced, he’s meant to be like a ‘bad guy’ or maybe it’s one of those things where he’s red herring, you know seems creepy at first but is actually fine. I’m confused how he knew Hioki’s name… note: if this is a plot point in the novel(?) and you know definitively what’s up with him, please don’t actually tell me! I’ve been enjoying it mostly spoiler free and I’d like to keep it that way, basically all of this is rhetorical lol

aside from that, as cute as that scene was, dragging Hioki back to Watarai knowing he has poor eyesight is actually foul lmao like maybe he was sitting in the front for a reason??? I know he has his contacts (lowkey was hoping for some more moments of Hioki in his glasses but alas 😔) and he clearly could see just fine considering how embarrassed he got about the photo of him but idk it’s just funny to me the boys were so prioritized being wingmen that there wasn’t even a moment like “what about Hioki’s eyesight?” (I should clarify this is all in good fun, I don’t think the boys actually did anything wrong lol)

Hioki was just getting manhandled by all his friends this episode, club and popular lol. He at least resists a little bit when it’s being delivered to Watarai but he just straight up lets it happen with his club friends. Speaking of his club friends, their friendship is so cute! I also like the fact that Hioki’s is an athlete, though I did have to google what badminton was lol

Watarai had all the subtlety of a brick this episode lmao, the fact that he was so pissed that Hioki was hanging out with his club friends that not hands being waved five inches from his face could snap him out of his staring is so funny. That boy is the opposite of nonchalant when it comes to Hioki.

This has nothing to do with this episode in particular but I really hope we get to meet Hioki’s older sisters and Watarai’s younger brother at some point. I remember when Watarai asked if Hioki had any siblings before Hioki could say anything I was like “he’s gonna say he has older sisters” and I was right! I have no explanations for why I picked up on that, it’s just vibes lol. Bonus points if his older sisters give Watarai a shovel talk <3 and Watarai’s little brother adores Hioki.

anyway if you got to the end of this thank you lol I have no one to talk to irl about this show so I just needed to rant about it, I have no idea how active the fandom is on here so 🤷‍♀️

When Watarai shifts into jealous mode and his eyes are ready to grab a ninja getting too friendly with his prey... I live for it. When Hioki stares into the void of clueless cuteness mode I swoon... Frozen prey.

This morning, joined a beach cleanup at Hioki Site hosted by the geopark. 今朝は日沖サイトにて、ジオパーク主催の海岸清掃に参加。

This site is a rather popular fishing spot. So, in addition to the litter drifted ashore, we always find garbage left by anglers. :(   That really upsets me. このサイトはポピュラーな釣りスポットなので、漂着ゴミ以外のゴミもいつもある場所。同じ釣り人の一人として、ホンマに憤慨すること多し。(-"-;)

This site is a wonderful place for geology lovers to observe pillow lava and pyroclastic breccia while picking up litter. ;) ここは海底で噴出したマグマの営みを見られるサイトなので、ゴミ拾いながら枕状溶岩やら火山角礫岩（だったっけ？）を愛でることができるというお得な場所。💕 At the same time, it’s a site where you can find some rare wild plants in abundance. 同時に、他の場所であまり見られない植物がたくさん自生してる場所でもあり。

確かこれオオハマグルマだったと思う。室戸ではここ以外であまり見かけないらしい。

ルリハコベは、室戸岬先端の遊歩道沿いでちらほら見かけたら、植物好きの観光客は躍り上がって喜ぶんだけど。ココに来たら実はイヤというほど生い茂ってる。ｗｗ

And after the cleanup, I found something really useful. This geosite is on the seashore and thus prone to tsunami. But since it is not a residential area, there is no high seawalls along the national road and no evacuation route leading up from the national road to a higher place. The anglers, walking pilgrims and geopark visitors who come here would be helpless when the predicted major earthquake hits. So I’ve been wanting to find the old mountain trail that only a few aged locals know where it was. Today, one of the cleanup participants asked around and finally found where the old trail was and took me there. It looked like an animal trail covered with weeds and giant reeds, but at least it was a trail. So... maybe I can talk to someone in the Disaster Prevention Division of this city to make a good use of the trail...? そして海岸清掃が終わった後、ナイスな発見が。 この日沖サイトはもろに海岸で、津波被害を受ける場所。だけど人家がないエリアなので、国道沿いに高い堤防もなければ、国道から高台へ上がる避難路もない。でも釣り人は常時いるし歩き遍路さんも通るし、枕状溶岩を見に来るジオパークビジターも来る。この人たちは南海トラフ巨大地震が来た時には、本当に助けがないことになると、ずっと気にしてたんです私。で、地元の年寄りだけが場所を知ってるという、はるか昔に使われてた山に上がる小道を、見つけたかったんです。 今日の海岸清掃の際に、私の知り合いが聞いて回ってその小道の場所を聞き出し、私と一緒に探してくれました。ありました！！今やダンチクに埋もれた獣道状態でしたが。でもいちおう、昔にちゃんと作ったらしき小道。 これ、市の防災課の人とかに話して、ちゃんとした避難路に整備しないか相談してみようかな...。
