Hippo CMS howto: create a site menu reference to a different mount
Hippo CMS (@onehippo) has a new feature since HST 2.22.08 (changelog) it is possible to create a sitemenu link that points to another mount in your Hippo site. An example: you can now use a site menu to link directly from a page in your english domain to a page inside your dutch domain (different mounts).
For a site we are currently developing we needed to be able to use site menu's that simply point to the homepage (or any other page) of an alternative language. Thanks to a quick response from Hippo to @LaurensLeeuwis' original forum post, we now have this feature, in less that a week since our original question. That is one of the strengths of using a dynamic, continuously improving platform like Hippo CMS.
The new property is hst:mountalias which you can now use in your sitemenu, when editing a hst:sitemenuitem via the Console under /hst:hst/hst:configurations/ncsc-en/hst:sitemenus
The hst:mountalias property (available in HST 2.22.08+) refers to an alias set in your mount under /hst:hst/hst:hosts/myhostgroup/myhost/hst:root/ (and sub nodes for multiple mounts)
