“And I'm young, but it's hard to believe
Yeah, yeah
That someday, I will never see you again
And you might not believe this, but you've changed me so much
Oh, baby baby, it's so hard leaving you
But maybe maybe, this was the only, only way”
Kat didn't always hate being compared to Jacob. Even when he first disappeared. It wasn't until she started seeing how his absence hurt their parents, even more-so when their dad got sick. She had really hoped to be a Slytherin like Jacob, or failing that, a Ravenclaw like their dad. She spends the first year feeling like a failure.
By the second year, the whispers and not so quiet comments are starting to get to her. So she leans in to her supposed failings, because they're all the ways she isn't like Jacob. And maybe that's a good thing. By fifth year she's adamant. She's NOTHING like Jacob. She only becomes more convinced when she hears what Jacob did to his friends. It takes a killing curse missing her best friend by half an inch for her to reconsider. She sees Rowan safely to the hospital and then she runs. Just like Jacob did. Because for all their differences, they both left a trail of hurt and death in their wake; two people who'd do anything to reach their goals, and who's friends have payed the price.
Have decided to be insane about my OCs because I am in fact on the "Insane about my OCs" website.
"Not everything is about your OCs"
Not to you maybe.
