Nature...
This is a satellite image of Hurricane Sandy.
From this point of view, the hurricane seems peaceful and beautiful.
It's remarkable.
Weather is remarkable.
It's something that can appear to be so peaceful and so beautiful, unless you are in it's destructive path. From above, it looks like a child's toy, a spinning top. However, below the spiraling clouds waits terrible winds and rain, ready to devour anything in it's wake. It's amazing how we can understand so much about storms, and yet there is nothing we can do to control them.
Weather is the ultimate free spirit. It does what it pleases, when it pleases, and there is nothing anyone can do to tame it. It roams the Earth searching for it's next friend, or its next victim. It shows no prejudices, affecting anyone and everyone. It can show kindness with a beautiful sunny day, or a crisp, chilly evening, but there are times when it shows no mercy: it is both beautiful and terrible.
