With the release of my webcomic "Right Before The Sun Sets" being around the corner, I want to show some character design sheet/concepts of the main character Cristian. He is was a bit of a challenge to design because, despite him being the main character, I didn't want his design to stand out too much while also having some element to him that is still recognizable. I played around a bit with the shape of his hair (which then I ended up also using for Sam) and his outfit. 👕🩴

Right Before The Sun Sets will be available on Webtoon on April 3rd, 2026.

“What The Water Gave Me” 1938 by Frida Kahlo

Kahlo is often thrown around as a generic #girlboss icon, but I think that diminishes her as both a person and an artist. People focus so much on the watered down Frida the symbol that she has become so overrated she is underrated.

There’s nobody like her: the way she used surreal aesthetics to depict her very real experiences and examine the many facets of her identity is amazing. I relate to her a lot, especially as a Latina artist who struggles with chronic health issues and she has inspired me to work through my suffering with art rather than taking it out on myself.
