shout out to artists of color who make tutorials on how to draw people of their race or ethnicity
shout out to artists of color who make art as a part of their cultural practices and share information about that art with those outside of the culture.
shout out to creators of color who make posts about holidays, religious customs, or any other parts of their culture so other people can learn
shout out to creators of color who post about etiquette on how to interact with their culture in a way that is respectful
shout out to creators of color who post on things like the proper language to use and how to use it, so people around them can learn
shout out to people of color who patiently and kindly answer questions (that are often silly or unintentionally rude) so people can learn to be better allies to their communities
shout out to people of color who don't always answer questions politely, because honestly you deserve some annoyance and/or rage
shout out to people of color who correct people on their racism, and explain why what they did is wrong and how to improve
shout out to the people of color who work as or volunteer their time as sensitivity readers and/or consult on media projects involving characters of color to help the writers be accurate in their portrayals
shout out to writers of color who make projects involving main characters of color, both helping other people of color who need more representation, and white people who can learn more about what the experience is like through fiction.
shout out to people of color who continue to do these things even when you experience new racism every day, often from people who claim to be allies. you have every reason to give up on the people trying to help, but you dont.
shout out to all people of color who have become patient educators to the people around them through their own choice or not, the world is significantly better because of what you do. even if it doesn't seem like it, every time you do one of these things, you really help. i want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for those of you who have taught me to be a better ally. you fucking rock.
