She is now yours. Barbie as Rapunzel will forever be important to me, for this movie is the sole reason I've started drawing in the first place. When I talk about my favourite Barbie movies, I find it really hard to rank them, because every single one of them holds a special place in my heart; I generally come down to five (Pegasus, Fairytopia, Christmas Carol, Princess and The Pauper and Nutcracker), but I always change that list when I rewatch any other.
This is one of my favourite drawings I've ever made, and I've spent a few months redoing it until I got it right. It has to be really detailed and sharp so I wouldn't miss any of the original sketch details. I can share some of my brainstorming when creating this and some real life 17th century portraits I took inspiration from, if you'd like.
(you also might notice the huge signature anti a/i watermark over her face. Just try to ignore it :))
