IRL Update

I hate to ask for help but I urgently need a new corset for work (I'm a historical interpreter) and everyday wear. I don't want any of my moots to feel pressured to donate or share but any help is appreciated.

I drew this piece last year for my December 2021 patrons! It's of a Roman couple gathering materials for their Saturnalia decorations in Hadrians Wall country 🧡

"Midshipman Elias": a historical reenactor portraying a Royal Navy midshipman c. 1765. The coat and hat were made by Matthew Brenkle, a historian with the USS Constitution museum ship. I'm a costumed interpreter at a living history museum, Early Colonial America.

We have Red Dorkings, four hens and one rooster named Dutch.

Dutch can be an asshole, cockadoodledoo-ing in the middle of discussions with guests, and they all steal food, but if anyone aggravates him or the ladies, I'm ready to throw hands.

I kid you not. Every. Single. Day:

"Don't pet the chickens please."

"Stop chasing the chickens."

"I understand you have chickens at home. They know you. These chickens don't. Our chickens are not pets, they're working animals."

"They have sharp beaks and even sharper spurs, and they will use them. We don't want them hurt, we don't want you hurt, and quite frankly, we don't feel like filling out the paperwork."

I love my work a lot, but it'd be lovely if I could get through one day without having to interrupt myself to do a parent's job (or in some cases, provide common sense older kids and adults ought to possess).

Anywho, I get to teach and learn history, while making things and playing dress up. Livin' the dream, babie!

that historical reenactor/interpreter/performer feel where you live vicariously  through videos of other people getting atypical facial and ear piercings or highly visible tattoos (as in, not even easily hidden under long sleeves)
