HUDSON WILLIAMS BTS for DSQUARED2
Good news: if you’re currently laying around and not producing anything, you are a credit to your species.
It’s recently been found that even hive insects rest. Bees will play with colorful toys. Ants sleep for about 1 minute but they do it so frequently it amounts to a few hours per day. Even trees take breaks.
The only things that work without rest are machines; literally everything that lives requires rest.
EVERYTHING THAT LIVES REQUIRES REST. STOP JUDGING YOURSELF FOR NOT BEING A ROBOT.
robots require very frequent breaks! welding machines generally have it programmed in that they can’t run so long they melt themselves. ive overseen two different manufacturing robots now and each of them were fragile, finicky idiots that require constant maintenance and repair. they pause in between moves, in between jobs. you’re always keeping an eye on programming errors, on coolant levels, on heat. you’re always pulling bits of scrap out of joints, sweeping up debris, washing off nozzles and untangling hoses. and even then it snaps a chain and takes a whole morning’s vacation.
even robots need downtime.
This belovéd weirdo
Unironically, this is why society would crumble without diversity
isnt it really cool how your memories can just physically attack you at random
Forget Percy wanting to meet Hercules. We all know canon Percy would only care so he can bully him for abandoning Zoë. No, no. Hercules should be asking to meet Percy.
Hercules sitting on his island, being bitter, hating his life twiddling his thumbs, and then the kid who has been absolutely gunning for his reputation just rolls up on a ship and doesn’t even come say hi. The kid they say has surpassed him. The kid who fights with HIS SWORD. The only demigod who turned down immortality, the only one who has had it offered since Hercules took it. While Hercules is being miserable because he’s immortal, Percy’s just off the hook from this endless loop of suffering.
Like Hercules wouldn’t ask to meet him? Please.
Let’s review, shall we? In canon, like Hercules, Percy:
Strangles vipers in his crib
Fights with the sword given to Hercules by Zoë, which she regretted giving him, but told Percy she was thankful that he carried it. Quite literally being honored by Hercules’ ex girlfriend.
Kills the Nemean Lion
Captures the boar
Kills that giant crab
Cleans Geryon’s stables
Kills Anteus
Wrestles Nereus
Beats Ares
and then he fights Kronos and wins <3 and the gods offer him immortality and he turns it down <3 I swear it’s like his entire life is designed specifically to piss Hercules off. He quite literally gets Hercules’ Disney movie ending that Hercules explicitly tells us he hates
well i misread that
I keep remembering a run of Hamlet I saw a few years ago, where the Ghost was costumed in full plate armour which was very noisy, and instead of muffling it, they had him crash across the stage, stomping so the whole set rattled, and he said all of his lines in a bellow, like he was furious with Hamlet.
And the thing that made it absolutely terrifying was that Hamlet was the only one who reacted. He was cowering, and covering his ears with both hands, and yelling to be heard over the noise.
And no one else seemed to know why he was doing that. The other actors didn't even raise their voices.
That's scary, something so loud and painful, and REAL, and the people around you don't even notice it, and think that you're the crazy one.
I love when I hear about a choice in Shakespeare I've never thought of before. Brilliant
you have a disgusting storytelling addiction
It’s true. It goes back a long way, too. It all started when…
Emos & scene kids got this close to abolishing gender for real. I try not to think about it too much.
The idea of a popular teenage subculture where girl & boys pretty much all dress the same feels impossible now but for a while it was reality and it was beautiful.

Very Silly Concept: a show called "Accessibility Nightmares" but it's structured exactly like Kitchen Nightmares. An accessibility specialist goes to different establishments and helps them make their businesses more accessible.
The accessibility specialist asks why the door at the top of the small set of stairs has a wheelchair symbol on it. The owner replies that's the accessible bathroom. The camera zooms in on the specialist as they process this information.
A customer with a service dog comes in to a restaurant. The hostess tells them they don't allow dogs. The accessibly specialist looks over at the hostess like
And there are web accessibility episodes too. The accessibility specialist stares at the white text on the light pink background of the home page like
The specialist asks why not a single product picture has alt text, and the business owner says "Well I mean, it's makeup, why would a blind person be shopping for makeup?" The specialist just
The specialist asks the web designer how a screen reader user is supposed to complete the captcha portion of the password reset process when there is no audio alternative. The designer admits they don't know.
#this post has 10k notes to me
When you left this tag three days ago, I thought "that's so sweet, but no. No way this concept is even close to that popular."
