Imagine going before the Supreme Court to attack birthright citizenship and being unable to say Native Americans are American citizens. This was never about the Constitution. It’s about exclusion.

Historically, the 14th Amendment was interpreted to exclude most tribal Native Americans from birthright citizenship due to tribal sovereignty; they gained citizenship via the separate Indian Citizenship Act of 1924.

I keep seeing leftists and liberals posting the same dumb fucking photo saying "no one should ever die because of a political opinion" and it is so infuriating. This is such a harmful rhetoric to frame what happened this way. Calling this man's beliefs simply "political opinions" IS SO FUCKED UP. Him actively wishing death on trans people like me, on mexicans and other immigrants like my fucking family, on women, ON HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE IN GAZA AND PALESTINE, IS NOT A FUCKING "POLITICAL OPINION". Equating the belief in my right to just fucking exist as a person, to "politics" is so incredibly fucking harmful and messed up. A political opinion is believing we should or shouldn't tax the rich, it's having an opinion on how we should handle immigration. It is NOT wanting people to die. He has a huge platform and actively supports and advocates for these things. His support is directly contributing to gun violence, he has literally said people getting murdered is "necessary" and "worth it". Actively wanting people to die and trying to help it along is not a fucking political opinion, it's the kind of shit that gets you shot in the fucking neck. Gun violence is bad and I feel for his kids and the people who had to witness that, but i have no empathy for a man who doesn't believe in empathy
