Happy HitTheGyeomsDay! I can’t believe this child is turning a year older and I can’t even call him child anymore. even though we’re born the same year I hope Yugyeom has/had a great birthday. He isn’t a kid anymore but he’ll still be a baby. But anyways it’s been a long while since I’ve written something. Requests are still open and I’m always willing to write! I’m sorry if its a little rusty but I hope you all enjoy!
One year older. It happens every year but somehow this year feels different. He knew that he’s grown up. He may not know how much he really did, but he knew that he’s not the little kid that everyone believed that he was. Even though he’s shown that he’s more of an adult, somehow people always treated him as a baby because he was the youngest of the group. Everyone, but one person. The one person who he could count on. The one he called his, who made him the happiest as he’s ever been. Someone who has always seen him as Yugyeom and not the baby of the group.
Eyes closed, laying in bed, he slept peacefully under the sunlight that seeped in through the windows. Having the day off meant that he could sleep in and spend time with his love, just relaxing doing anything that could range from watching a movie or going out to an indoor trampoline park. He stayed over at your place for the night so he could spend the whole day in with you, but little did he know that you had other things planned.
Earlier you had slipped out of bed carefully without waking up him up which was fairly easy. These recent schedules had really wore him out so he deserved some time to sleep in and get some rest. He had a full day ahead of him and you wanted to make sure he was rested up for that. You started to make him a special breakfast, making sure that everything tasted good and cooked well since it’s been a while since he had a home cooked meal with going from schedule to schedule. After finishing his breakfast, you plated it nicely for him and placed it on the counter.
Heading over to the fridge, you took out a small cupcake that you purchased the other day for him. Taking it out of its cover, you slowly made your way to your bedroom where he was sleeping. Peeking your head into the room, you saw how his was sleeping peacefully on his side, perfectly exposing his side profile of his face. You smiled at him, seeing how peaceful he looked but it wasn’t going to be peaceful in a second. You walked over to him on the bed and slowly climbed onto the bed. You leaned in and kissed his cheek, seeing him stir a bit, signaling that he was about to wake up.
“Good morning,” you whispered softly seeing him smile before bringing the cupcake closer to his face. “Happy birthday, Yuggie!” You exclaimed while shoving the cupcake to his cheek causing him to wake up abruptly. You started laughing hard at his reaction as he looked around.
After he processed what happened, he looked at you dead in the eye. You stopped laughing and looked at him, trying to contain your giggles. “Come here you!” he exclaimed. You let out a scream and scrambled off the bed, running away from him as he got up from the bed and followed you. You started laughing again, dodging him as he came close but his long legs gave him an advantage. He grabbed you by the waist and held you close. You looked up at him and he smiled devilishly at you.
“No, no, n-!” You exclaimed while shaking your head, but it was too late. Yugyeom pressed his cheek against yours, rubbing the frosting from his cheek to yours. “Yugyeom!” This time it was his turn to laugh. You sighed in defeat as he won with his arms still wrapped around yours. You smirked and turned to lick the frosting off his cheek, catching him off guard. You smiled cheekily at him. “Happy birthday, baby.”
“Thank you for the wake up call, baby.” he chuckled. “And thank you for the birthday wish.” You smiled and took his hand before leading him to the kitchen where you had breakfast set out for him. He widened his eyes in surprise before smiling brightly and kissing your forehead. “Wow! Thank you so much!” You took a paper towel and wiped the frosting off your cheek while he dug into his food happily.
“So what do you want to do today?” You asked while smiling at him.
“I’m not asking for much. Spending time with you is all I could ever ask for.” He smiled back at you causing you to blush slightly from his words. “Although the boys want to see me for my birthday today.”
“Do you know what time?”
“Anytime. But they said to text ahead of time before I come over.”
“So how about we have a little fun before heading over to the guys?”
“That sounds like a plan, baby.” he nodded before finishing up his breakfast.
You took his plate and started washing it as Yugyeom went to go get ready for the day. After placing his dish on the drying rack, you headed to the bedroom and went to get ready yourself. It was a little cooler than the summer to fall transition days. You dressed yourself in a pair of skinny jeans and a short sleeved v-neck, pairing it with a nice jacket and your converse. You took the rest of the time, waiting for Yugyeom to put on a natural makeup look.
Yugyeom came out from the bathroom changed in a pair of skinny jeans himself and a simple black t-shirt. Even in something so simple. He looked so handsome. His hair was tousled just right. He reached for a belt and slipped it on before slipping on his sneakers. You smiled at him as finished getting ready. Although his voice snapped you out of your daze.
“Ready, babe?” He asked you and you nodded with a smile.
Both of you left your apartment and headed out for the day. Hand in hand, both of you walked in the busy streets of Seoul, just spending time with each other, looking at clothes and other things that you both liked, although it was a day where Yugyeom could do whatever. This was one thing that he loved to do with you. It was so nice to go out with Yugyeom and not have anyone bother you two. The media and fans knew of your relationship so when they saw you out with each other, they usually let you have your peace.
Before heading over to the guys’ place, you both stopped for ice cream. Ordering your favorites, Yugyeom texted the guys that they would be over soon. You paid for the ice cream secretly as he was on his phone considering that it was his day and that he shouldn’t have to do anything like this and it was your only excuse to be able to pay for things as before he’s always saying that he wanted to to always treat you. You handed him his and he kissed your forehead in thanks.
“Did you see all the things that your fans sent you and said?” you asked while walking over to the dorms.
“Yeah, I did. They are so sweet.” he chuckled. “And apparently Hit The Stage will always live with me.”
“You deserved to win!”
He let out a chuckle. “Thank you, baby.”
A few moments and an ice cream later, you both were at the dorms. You walked up to their room before knocking on it, trying not to spoil the surprise the boys had for Yugyeom if he had just walked in. Suddenly it was unlocked and the room was dark. You both walked in and you turned on the lights, the guys holding up a small cake, screaming, “Surprise! Happy birthday, maknae!”
Yugyeom jumped in surprised, not expecting for this to happen. The guys lit up the candles and started singing. You, of course, joined along. You laughed as he covered his face shyly before closing his eyes to make a wish and blowing out the candles.
“What did you wish for?” Jinyoung asked.
“For you guys to give me more respect!” Yugyeom exclaimed.
Jinyoung started laughing before looking seriously at him. “Not gonna happen, kid.”
“Right because you don’t want to feel older than you already are, right?”
“That’s it!”
Yugyeom ran away from him laughing and Jinyoung started chasing him. Even though that they treat him like a kid, they know he isn’t and that’s what Yugyeom really wanted. He loved being playful with his members but wanted to know that he’s grown and is more mature than the gullible kid they met. Yugyeom got his wish.
