“Is there a reason you’ve been following me for an hour?”
Nostalgia consumed near every part of this man’s being; it was the driving factor in this unwarranted bout of stalking–investigative efforts. The man had lived a life shrouded in shadow, and while tracking had never been one of his most frequented efforts, he decided it best to follow through nonetheless.
It seemed, however, that even within this day and age he could not go unnoticed.
Diabound had not been sure what he had expected, hell, he had not even thought of genuinely approaching this stranger so eerily familiar to him. And yet he stood, feeling cornered. It made his skin prick, his stomach clench, his teeth grit all of which had been concealed as he lifted his head and held himself the slightest bit straighter.
“That is a rather lofty presumption. Do you assume everyone heading in your general direction is tailing you?”
Perhaps it wasn’t the best of responses, but honesty had never been a friend of his.
