(hlpd lieutenant) "What's up, fuckface?"

“Honestly, I was about to ask you the same thing, Lieutenant.” He smoothly remarked, allowing the less-than-polite commentary to roll off his back like water. “It’s not everyday we get a call from the HLPD... or is it?” Of course, it wasn’t beneath him to slide in a bit of a tongue-in-cheek comeback when he could.

(hlpd-lieutenant) "Got a light?"

“I might,” he replied, quietly sizing up the man in his approach. 

Jigen knew a cop when he saw one, but this guy seemed none the wiser to the gunman’s own status quo, which suited him just fine. His only real claim to fame, outside of the criminal underbelly, was his connection to his more infamous partner. Jigen himself was not as much of a fan of the spotlight and preferred the anonymity of a stagehand to Lupin’s schemes.  

With the weight of expectation rested on him, Jigen searched his pockets until he found his lighter, and snapped the lid open, igniting a meager flame.

(hlpd-lieutenant) "Tell me about the ghosts you saw in the abandoned warehouse."

Wait, that was the part he wanted to know about? Not why he was there in the first place? Well, weird, but whatever. Rock shrugged.

“There were two or three maybe? Mostly just messing with the equipment. They didn’t attack anyone directly, but some of that shit’s pretty dangerous to be around you know? Almost had a few accidents that night.”

Craning back to gaze up at the man, the swan blinked twice, long eyelashes fluttering, then, with a soft peeping sound, snaked out her neck, tugging gently but insistently at his trouser leg. 

Perhaps it was undignified of her, begging like this– as if she were a common animal!– but- well… She was hungry.. 

And if she had to eat one more bug or- or slimy, struggling little minnow she would SCREAM… At least, she would have, if she could still even scream properly. 

And she didn’t want the whole loaf, after all– just a piece would do, really…!
