I've been in the Realm of Murk (tm) the past bit, so i haven't filled y'all in in the Prom Shawl Project.
On March 23, Kaboom asked if I could make her a shawl for prom, which is April 12.
I said yes, of course, because a) I'm basically never going to say no to her asking me to knit her something and b) I'm a sucker for right knitting deadlines and the adrenaline high thereof.
So we tried on various shawls I've made to talk about shape, size and weight, and decided to go with a Luminaria, which is a beautiful pattern I've knitted twice before.
Monday, all the local yarn stores were closed. Tuesday we drove to Memphis (for vacation). Wednesday we made it to a yarn store! Stitching Supply in Memphis had a great selection, were really friendly and also gave us BBQ recommendations. We got yarn, and I cast on.
Progress as of March 29, done with the stars chart, starting the blossom chart
Progress as of last night, first edging chart finished, only 11 rows left.
Second pair of socks from my 2025 self-imposed sock club. Continuing the trend of "looks goofy when you aren't wearing them".
The pattern is bananen-socken, the yarn is Cascade yarn heritage wave
Bananen-Socken
Needed a break from big, complicated projects, so I finished a pair of socks.
And the set is complete! I've now made a version of this shawl for each season, and the spring bulbs were even up in time for the pictures
It's prom day! And the shawl i made worked great for the kid ( tale of the prom shawl).
Sadly my pictures do not show how very sparkly it is
