finished the sumeru archon quest today this is all i retained
(actually though, my very long thoughts on 6.6 are below. under the cut to avoid actual spoilers. lol)
ITS SO PEAK, it's too good, I'm in love. Sumeru is my favorite nation, so I'm very biased, but finally coming back to Truth Amongst the Pages of Purana after all these years to wrap up loose ends + the Dottore plot was so satisfying to me.
...And Kaveh got so much time to shine in an archon quest!!!!!!! All of his + Alhaithams cutscenes were so fun for me (again, these 2 are in my top 5 favs so, biased) and the scene in the last photo where theyre just...talking was so good. I'm very close in personality to Kaveh, so there were so many times I giggled during the quest where I would say something aloud in response to Alhaitham, only for Kaveh to say the exact same thing a second later 😆 Seeing everyone in action like this though, it really goes to remind you that they're all extremely smart scholars and even the best in their fields for a lot of the cast...
Oh, and moving to Pantalone and Dottore, they drove me up a WAALLLLL LOL what is wrong with them. Truly, I should've known when we found out they were connected that Pantalone was also a freak. Only a true unrestrained weirdo could handle being in Dottore's radius. And the fact that his status as a harbinger is only known by the player, and the rest of the cast never find out outside of sneaking suspicions(? I'm pretty sure this is the case) was so good. (Side Note: I noticed very quickly that Pantalone's hood had a shape to it that basically just turned it into Dottore's mask. What's up with that huh. What's wrong with you
But honestly, for the first time in a long while, I felt like I was playing an actual good, well paced quest in a Hoyo game. Amphoreus and Natlan were kinda slogs for me (I mean, I haven't even finished Natlan LOL I get my lore from that nation from my friend) and Nod-Krai has been great in comparison so far, but this quest in particular didn't feel like it slowed down or dragged anything out at all. Again, maybe I'm biased because I like sitting and listening to the Sumeru cast, but this story was good. Good plot, good ending(? I'm eyeing Pantalone and that soul conversation him and Dottore had [also Re: his suspiciously Dottore shaped mask]) to a villain who's been terrorizing the plot since before the game was even released, and just a fun time all around. I can't wait to convince my friend to finally play Nod-Krai just for this AQ. haha.
