Every time I apply my oestrogen gel because of menopause I think "there is a trans woman somewhere who is also sitting in her underwear post shower waiting for the gel to dry before she finishes getting dressed" and I feel happy and a sense of kinship and camaraderie with her even though I am not a trans woman or even trans femme in anyway
But I know how to apply the gel because I saw posts from trans women how to apply it and I feel that even though are reasons for using it are different that we are not so different
So for any woman or non binary person out there who are sitting post oestrogen gel application and scrolling on their phone as they wait for it to dry...we are doing this together and this genderqueer person lovee you
Every so often you see someone say some shit like "actually nondisabled people, ummm disabled people can be real assholes, they can be really mean and maybe even violent"
and it's like, mate they know.
Somehow you didn't notice this but "well he must've been disabled" is literally THE mainstream explanation for violence. A mass shooting? He must've been mentally ill. Political radicalisation into far-right extremes? He must've been mentally ill or possibly autistic. Bloke hits his wife? Mental illness, he needs to Go To Therapy. They just say "mental illness" because saying "disabled" makes it too obvious what's going on. Even when "mental illness" starts to sound too sympathetic, they either say it was an addict or someone who "Went Off Their Meds," so a kind of evil disability we can blame the individual for having.
Kindly, you just have the "permanently infantilised widdle baby angel" disability. You don't have the "this thing is a terrifying monster that, if left unchecked, will start raping and pillaging" kind of disability.
This is why it's important to talk to people who aren't disabled in the same way that you're disabled. Simply fixating on your own specific bubble of experiences will give you a definition of "ableism" that makes you think that every disabled person is being infantilised into a harmless little moral woobie who exists purely in inspiration porn videos. No mate, disability has been both the right and the liberal centre's scapegoat for culturally motivated violence since Columbine.

the online identity and gimmick-ifying of autism is so odd. I'm diagnosed with autism and yet I barely identify with any stuff I see about it anymore. It feels like autism is being rebranded as the Silly Guy Disorder that gives you smart and beautiful hyperspecific interests. it's not that I mind silly jokes or being lighthearted about being autistic- but when the entire social movement is based around marketing us this way, I just can't help but feel isolated from it. it feels like I'm not the right kind of autistic. I'm not marketable and digestible to common audiences, and therefore I am discarded by the movement in the name of progress and acceptance. it feels foul.
Cisgender people have the angel and the devil on either of their shoulders, I have the man and woman on mine. Both are evil. Both tell me to commit horrendous atrocities.
I have been separated from my laptop for like a week and a half and Im already going through writing withdrawals. I've started writing PHYSICALLY I havent written stories physically in YEARS. Someone SAVE ME.
