Ring-a-ding-ding, this dvi bell is a new thing 🐮🔔
Our latest PiCowbell! - the DVI Output 'bell. Following up on our successful DVI Feather with a full-sized HDMI connector we like to turn whatever our RP2040 'bones' board is into a 'bell' so folks can use it with their existing Pico boards. This one uses IO 6 thru 13 to generate a DVI signal. I2C is used to read the EDID (a level shifter takes it down from 5V to 3.3V logic). We also have breakouts for the Util, CEC and Hot Plug Detect pads. A Stemma QT port makes adding I2C sensors and devices easy. perhaps connect it to our WiiChuck QT breakout to make a lil game controller? anyways, a full size HDMI port wouldn't fit, so we went with mini HDMI - same as the Pi Zero! There's also a slide switch - thought it would be useful to have a switch input to, say, change resolutions or turn on a test mode. Once we get this board we'll test it with our PicoDVI Arduino library.
