Mình vừa có một chuyến đi Hồ Tràm cuối tuần và thật ra đây không phải lần đầu mình nghe tên The Grand Hồ Tràm — cái tên này cứ lặp đi lặp lại mỗi khi ai đó trong nhóm bạn mình nhắc đến chuyện "đi đâu gần Sài Gòn cho nó thở."
Thật ra Hồ Tràm không hẳn là Vũng Tàu theo nghĩa trung tâm phố, nhưng khi tìm kiếm khách sạn Vũng Tàu đẹp theo kiểu ven biển, yên tĩnh, không chen chúc — thì khu vực này lại được nhắc đến nhiều hơn mình nghĩ. Mình cũng tham khảo thêm ở đây trước khi đi, khá có ích.

Điểm mình thích nhất là bãi biển riêng — không phải kiểu "riêng" trên giấy rồi vẫn đông như hội chợ. Buổi sáng sớm gần như chỉ có mình với mấy người chạy bộ. Phòng hướng biển thì view ổn, ban công đủ rộng để ngồi uống cà phê nhìn ra biển mà không cảm giác bị nhà bên cạnh nhìn vào.
Ẩm thực thì đa dạng hơn mình kỳ vọng — có buffet, có hải sản, có đồ Á. Không phải chỗ nào cũng xuất sắc nhưng nhìn chung không bị thất vọng.
Điểm trừ thành thật mà nói: giá không rẻ, và nếu bạn không tận dụng hết các tiện ích như hồ bơi, spa, khu vui chơi thì sẽ thấy hơi lãng phí. Nhưng nếu đi theo kiểu "nghỉ xả hơi thật sự" thì mình nghĩ đáng.

Day 3: Early morning walks and late night shopping
Today, I got woken up by Kiet, he told me he was up from 3am because he remembered a scene from the Conjuring 2 (still pending to watch), so I just got up at 5am. We chilled for a bit, did a little editing for my vlogs and we were off to a morning walk to the local beach, I remembered this beach too. There's a little temple above it and because I didn't want to get wet, my sister said we can just look at the beach. It was so beautiful seeing people fishing in the early morning with countless fishing boats in the water. We got some breakfast which consisted of eggs, beef, pâté, baguette, and iced soy milk (which is normal in Asia). It was so good, I didn't really like the pâté but other than that it was so good. Headed home to collect my parents and be in our way to Ho Tram (at this point I thought we were going to Vung Tau). The long drive, he finally got there and the heat just slapped me in the face. The air con in the car messed me up and I really underestimated the heat (31 but fees like 38). It was so luxurious, wanted to take a little dip but our family said we'll go to Vung Tau and swim there. We took a pit stop to get some lunch, it wasn't nice. There were flies everywhere and kind of put me off my meal. I was happy to leave as soon as to be honest. After that we headed towards a fish market where we bought a whole box of fresh scallops, at this point I didn't even know it was scallops until it was cooked (and I asked my dad). Grilled with some Spring onions and crushed peanuts, to actually die for. After dinner we decided to head to Vung Tau, I kind of didn't know why we were heading there so late. So I read up that it used to be called, Cap Saint Jacques, during the French Indochinese government, and I could see the heavily influenced French architecture and a couple of hotels called the former name. As well as, it becoming accustomed to tourism, flashing lights, pumping music, couple of English and Russian words flashing everywhere. Gutted that I didn't get to do much though, we just went to a shopping mall and my mum went a bit ott with the shopping, with me just buying a little gift for my boyfriend. We even stopped on the side to sit and watch the beach but it was too dark to see, hopefully when Vu arrives, we'll go again and I'll get to go market shopping and etc. I wanted to see the Monkey Temple, Quan Am Temple, and the Christ of Vung Tau.

Good Night to the sun. And hello to the next phase. We left our two faced world of Ho Tram Beach; rubbish and fishermen versus luxury and protected community. I could drink a beer at my accommodation for 30000 Vietnamese Dong or walk down the beach and join this guy for the same beer for less than a quarter of that. He was rarely having a beer.he was gathering shellfish.
