Y'know what, I was holding off posting this for some reason but honestly I just wanted to post something, so! The Heroes!
Wanted to try a movie poster-esque style for this one and I'm happy with how everyone in the background came out (except for Sable, I think she maybe needs more work). Originally this was just going to be an underdrawing/style test for a more finished painting, but I just kind of left it like this (that's why there's a big dark smudge behind Reese's ears that I forgot to erase).

ōkami redd! these were an absolute BLAST to draw oh my god, i’ve been meaning to draw one of the characters in the ōkami style for a while now (i recently finished the game and now i love it)
technically i should’ve given him his 9 tails but instead here’s his...form with less power! (though if you wanna see him with extra tails, that’s something that’ll be explored later in my hoav au ;) )
anyway, like he does in hoav, this ōkami redd controls fire! i chose a glaive to be his primary divine instrument, as i think it fits his fighting style best!
hope you guys enjoy this; i definitely plan on doing other characters at some point because this was so much fun!
i had an absolute blast working on this painting! i’ve got a better understanding of how fur length and direction works now. the smoke was tough to do, but i’m pleased with the final outcome (it’s due to his fire powers btw)!
as for the last sketch - the hat wouldn’t go on his ears without them piercing it (he didn’t want to wear it anyway), so the others found another solution...
made these today! i’m slowly getting back into the swing of drawing after recent events.
redd likes to fight. i headcanon that after all of the events in my au, he’s absolutely covered in scars. of course, this just makes him even scarier to children and other animals that don’t know him.
they can all agree that his scar is badass though, even if he refuses to tell anyone about how he got it.
aaaanyway since i don’t think i’ve really talked about rhys much on tumblr, here we go! i made him before nh came out but have barely drawn him, so here’s some redd and rhys content for y’all
rhys himself is a very cynical character, despite only being about 10 years old. due to his backstory, he has a pessimistic view of life. at first, redd is annoyed by him as he hates kids, but because of their similar personalities (grumpy and sarcastic) they end up bonding. rhys has an interest in art.

rhys is another boondoxian, who was left orphaned after the events of my au. he follows redd, pestering him. redd continuously ignores him, until rhys tells him that his parents are dead, which hits home with redd (once assumed to be an orphan). he lets him come home with him, and rhys expresses his interest in art. this eventually causes him to become redd’s apprentice.
a VERY long overdue post, but here are the boonfoxes! this is my take on redd’s family. they’re all from boondox, which is somewhere i wanted to explore further in my AU. as always, headcanons and info below the cut!
rowan (OC): redd and quicksilver’s father. there isn’t a good bone in his body. upon seeing his son for the first time, he decided that he was too ugly and cast him into the river in hopes of murdering him (it didn’t work. that probably wasn’t a good idea rowan, you’re gonna regret that later). rowan is cruel and judgemental, and is convinced that his opinion is the only right one. for this reason, others can be afraid to stand up to him, particularly his wife and daughter.
fun fact about him: i loosely based him off of an eastern dragon, because he’s based off a demon from dante’s inferno like his son! the demon in question is draghignazzo, thought to have meant ‘sneering dragon’.
green (OC): redd and quicksilver’s mother. she is shy and reserved (think sable 2.0), and often has trouble voicing her feelings. unlike rowan, green loved her son when he was born, and was understandably distraught when he supposedly ‘died’. she is afraid of rowan, instead seeking comfort in her remaining daughter.
fun fact about her: the demon i’m allocating to her will either be barbariccia (’curly beard’, in reference to her fur), or scarmigione (’disheveled’, in reference to her appearance throughout most of the au).
redd: since i’m on a redd kick atm and have been for a while now, i have a BUNCH of headcanons for him.
first of all, i see him as someone who puts on a front for customers (the ‘crazy’ redd we see in game). however, as soon as he’s with people he’s close to (tom and sable), he is much more inclined to disclose his true feelings. i imagine him to actually be quite grumpy and even angry most of the time.
next, and this is a smaller one, i headcanon that he’s scared of water. this is partially because of what happened to him as a kit, and partially because foxes dislike water anyway.
lastly for now, i headcanon that he paints all of his art himself! he’s a very good artist with an undeniable talent for replicating famous paintings. he’s also probably drunk paint water more times than he cares to admit
quicksilver (OC): redd’s sister! luckily, she takes more after her mother and is kind and unusually optimistic (for a boondoxian). she’s intelligent, but is easily manipulated by others and often can’t tell when it’s happening. she possesses a green amulet, which multiple boondoxians want to get their hands on. some have said that she’d make a good leader.
fun fact about her: i chose the demon calcabrina for her, which was thought to have meant ‘frost walker’. i chose this in reference to her amulet and the power it may or may not hold ;)

Introducing Tsuneflare! I’ve wanted to show off the group that he comes from so badly, but I can’t do that until December unfortunately ;-; but here’s one of them anyway!
Tsuneflare is the first fire hero, and you may have seen his name on Redd’s ref—however that’s all I can reveal right now!
I’ve been wanting to draw these two together for ages. Redd always gets mad when someone is taller than him, so you can imagine his anger (and slight fear) when he discovers this gigantic god of a kitsune lmao.
get ready ;) those of you who follow my instagram (@/angawdmeg) may have seen me post this yesterday! there definitely isn’t long to go until i’m ready to begin posting hoav on here, tapas, ig, and deviantart. just gotta finish up a few things first! it’ll be a comic, much like the test pages i’ve posted on here before. i hope you’re all as excited as i am!
