It's Bandcamp Friday...
...this time, I picked up the new Hoaxed album, Death Knocks, which is an awesome heavy rock album I've had on repeat lately -
I also grabbed the second album Ada Rook put out last year, 59 Nights - it's more a collection of songs recorded over the last 4 years, including some Kittie and Children of Bodom covers. Maybe a little less accessible/more of an acquired taste, but there are some bangers in there ;)
I also picked up a couple of EPs by French anarchist musical collective Non-Serviam, that they'd put up as pay-what-you-want, including their split EP with Gallkrist (Japanese black metal musician Vivien Slaughter) - I still remember the summer I listened to a lot of Gallhammer (Vivien's previous band, an almost unintelligable all-girl Hellhammer tribute) and how much that messed up my app's musical recommendations for years afterwards...
Finally, political hip-hop artist Sa-Roc has put a lot of her earlier albums out for pay-what-you-want (which includes free!). Her 2020 album The Sharecropper's Daughter was really good, so I'm looking forward to exploring some of her earlier work!
