AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO WISHED FOR BRYCE X CONNOR TO HAPPEN?
For them to have that date. A chance, a moment. I honestly feel more sparks between Bryce and Connor! How I wish I could read more about them.
Cry with me.

CRESCENT CITY HOUSE OF EARTH AND BLOOD SPOILERS
The reason that I’m paranoid Hunt and Bryce will not be endgame is in part because he’s the first love interest, yes. But the main reason is that it took them a few weeks to fall in love. It took 1 month from the moment they met, to the point where they were 100% in-love for their entire relationship the finish its arc. Normally Maas writes romances that take months, nearly a year. My other major concern is that they got their happily ever after at the end of book 1, in what is most likely a multiple book series. That’s what really gets me.
Hunt and Bryce seem like endgame, with everything that happened to them in HOEAB. But how are they going to keep that going through an entire series? I don’t think Bryce has gone through her dark transition period yet. I don’t think she’s had her Aelin (Heir of Fire) or Feyre (ACOMAF) moment yet. She’s going to have it, and when she does, is she going to realize that Hunt lied to her, betrayed her, ripped her apart, and they never talked about it? He never gave an explanation beyond “I thought it would be best for you”. He made a decision about what he thought was best for her, instead of telling her the truth. He made a decision that effects her entire life by lying, and was comfortable living with it. At least at the time he was.
I love them both, I’m just speculating here.
It was Fury! From the pinterest board, and the 'light brown' descriptor. I feel like they will too, with how Bryce kinda stood up to that fae woman in the restaurant. I'd be surprised if this Philip dude continues to be shown as a villain, or if he is, if someone else doesn't come along with the same cause, bc you know... human rights, lol
Yes, exactly, Phillip is such a villain right now that I cannot imagine him staying that way. Like from our POV, human rights are.... good? And Bryce being half human like, she can’t just ignore that.
Im not sure what I think of Fury rn. Or the whole stratification of society in general, with humans being enslaved basically. I know we’ll learn more soo. so I’m holding out on judgement.
I can’t wait to reread these posts in a month and realize what fools we all were.
CRESCENT CITY: HOUSE OF EARTH AND BLOOD MAJOR SPOILERS
DO NOT KEEP READING IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE BOOK!!!
I’m honestly so paranoid that Hunt and Bryce won’t be endgame, but honestly? If Crescent City is a going to be a series (and it is) let’s say hypothetical 3-6 books that are 600-900 pages each... that’s just way too much page time to already have the OG couple stay together. It’s also very out of character for Maas to do the whole “happily ever after” thing at the end of the first book. All the other romances she’s written (both the ones that have and haven’t worked out) have been showburns that took months, nearly a year, to fully develop. Hunt and Bryce fell in love, totally and completely, in a few weeks.
That just doesn’t add up. There is no way they stay going strong for the whole series, not with so many other elements in play. At best, there is angst, melodrama, and a breakup. At worst, they don’t end up together. Also, I don’t know if it’s just me, but they acted SO domestic in HOEAB with each other. It’s like Maas just skipped all the way to the end of their relationship, which, once again, is very uncharacteristic of her. She likes to take her time to carefully craft relationships. She’s never come close to writing anything like an insta-love that turned into an endgame relationship before.
Maybe she’s just trying something new, but I don’t know. I get a weird feeling... it’s just not adding up. The last time a Maas heroine (Celaena/Aelin) was deeply betrayed by her love interest (Chaol) she went ballistic, just like Bryce. Also like Bryce, it very much seemed like Celaena/Aelin and Chaol would be endgame with the whole “I’ll always choose you” thing. Look how that turned out.
The difference between the Celaena/Chaol situation and the Bryce/Hunt situation is that Bryce and Hunt didn’t have time to process their thoughts and feelings. Right after the betrayal, they were thrust into a life and death save-the-world situation, and miraculously made it out alive. Yes, I know Hunt didn’t mean to betray her, and that she forgave him and would have traded places with him, but that was only a few days after. If Sandriel hadn’t shown up, then the summit, Micah, the gates, etc. Then I don’t know if they would have gotten back together. The only thing that’s driving Bryce and Hunt’s relationship right now is undiluted pure honeymoon phase love, that looks a lot like soulmate love.
Maybe it is soulmate love, but even if it is, love isn’t enough to sustain a relationship. As Rhysand once said “The issue isn’t whether he loved you, it’s how much. Too much. Love can be a poison.” Please don’t take this to mean I think Hunt is anything like Tamlim, because I absolutely do NOT believe that, but this quote just helps articulate my point, which is this... there is so much love between Bryce and Hunt, but so little foundation. Is there trust? True trust, even after that betrayal? I want to say yes, after all that happened. Bryce bathing him after battle, Bryce being willing to trade places with him, Hunt sacrificing himself for her at the end. It all screams ENDGAME!!! I just get this weird feeling that they’re not though.
Remember when Bryce was talking about Alphaholes, and how they decided what their women eat, wear, want, etc. Well, Hunt broke one of her Alpha-hole rules. He knew vital information about her best friend’s death and knowingly kept it from her, because he decided it was better for her not to know. He made a decision about her life and was comfortable with it until she found out. They never really did get to talk about that part? They just skipped right to the “OMG YOU ARE BEING SOLD AND THE WORLD IS ENDING I LOVE YOU” part.
Sorry if this just seems like me rambling. I am sort of rambling. I’m just trying to dissect everything as I write this and a lot of these things didin’t occur to me until just now. I have no idea if I’m right about any of it, but I have a HOEAB hangover, and I needed to spill my thoughts somewhere. Please feel free to respectfully share your own thoughts too.
