Also since I don't think you got many of this -- Rae & Chels + what you think Chelsea said in the vault that had Raven shook and what it leads to
“I know you’re awake, Chelsea.” She tried her best to keep her voice level, but the amount of effort it took Raven to not yell was astronomical. Even a raucous night at the club wasn’t enough to dull the betrayal Raven felt.
Chelsea, for her part, was an unmoving lump on the top bunk of their bed. She let out an elephantine snore.
“I’m serious! You can’t just drop a bomb like that on me and expect me to be okay with it!” Raven’s voice rose about an octave halfway through, but he brought it back down to a hiss.
The blanket slid down a bit, revealing Chelsea’s worried face. “Rae, I’m sorry. I really didn’t think it would count.”
“How could you think that? You don’t make out with someone and then propose to them and think it doesn’t count!”
“Rae, the kids are sleeping!”
Raven took a deep breath and silently counted to ten. “Why would you play with my emotions like that, Chels?”
“We were really, really drunk and stuck on a boat in the middle of the ocean. I’m surprised you even remembered it.”
Raven flopped down on the bottom bunk.
“Did you want it to mean something?” Chelsea asked.
“No. I don’t know. You’re my best friend, and I love you. But I…I don’t know what I expected. Forget it, Chelsea. It’s over. Let’s just go to sleep.”
“Wait. Rae, what are you saying?”
Chelsea climbed down from the top bunk and sat next to Raven on her bed. “I had no idea it meant that much to you.”
Raven turned over to face the wall. “Well, it did.” She felt a light tap on her hip.
“Scootch over,” Chelsea said.
You don’t have to-” Raven was cut off when Chelsea managed to somehow squeeze herself onto the tiny sliver of bed available. Sighing, Raven moved over to make room.
“If it makes you feel any better,” Chelsea whispered, “I hoped it would count, too. But we were in two totally different places in our lives. I didn’t dare hope we could, you know…”
Raven turned a little to peek at Chelsea. “Maybe we already are?” At Chelsea’s confusion, Raven explained. “We live together, we’re raising our kids together, and we’re trying to make it through life together.”
Realization dawned on Chelsea’s face. She leaned down and planted a light kiss on Raven’s forehead. “Maybe we are,” she agreed.
