Any advice on cleaning hog slap letters without developing rust? Everything I try ends with a thin layer at the base of the needles

I accidentally left some of mine wet and a wire bbq brush took the rust right off! I think the main thing is drying asap - I do them spikes down, sitting on styrofoam, in a breeze or a fan if possible.

I was planning on experimenting with them in the dishwasher, so I'll report back when I do to see if they come out dry and not rusted.

hiiii, may i ask how badly the hog slapper hurts in your opinion? especially how the first hit felt before you got used to it? me & my gfs have been considering trying it out but we're trying to get more info on how it feels before investing bc some of them are a little scared of it hehe

hi!! I haven't had one yet, only given, just asked one of the slappees (experienced impact bottom) and they say it's a 7. I hear it's not very pointy feeling, and the hard hit from basically a length of pipe is the main sensation lmao.
