Calling my little sister to say Merry Christmas

My sister: There are presents under the tree for you, I wish I could open them....I mean so I could tell you what they are.

During my late teens and early 20s I wasn't much of a Christmas time fan. Probably because it was shoved down my throat from October to January. And I would be tortured at 5am to Xmas songs as my dad drove me to Seminary (when I once was a Mormon). 

So it's kind of nice to have a genuine feeling of the Christmas Spirit. One of the upsides of a country that is not uber-Christmasatized. The other being not black Friday and no real need (more like guilty obligation) to spend tons of money on material things. I got to ease into it. And with teaching my kids Christmas carols for their holiday party I find myself in an amazing cheery mood, singing some of my fav songs. I think it is also because after a crappy year, December is being so nice to me I can't help but smile.
