CURSED WORDS
Straight from the Sam Raimi school of slapstick horror, the team at Holomax creates gore and laughs when three words are read in a pub. Fan of their previous work like THE WORST PLANET ON EARTH and SPOOKY CLUB, the gags and production value here are the best the team has created so far. The practical effects are awesome but what I really love is the censorship of the three evil words, for the sake of the audience of course!
THE WORST PLANET ON EARTH
Fans of British humor and quirky genre films, will cheer after watching this short. Having been on a Holomax kick, spotlighting this short and that short, here’s their newest piece that follows the exploits of a stranded astronaut and somewhat useless wizard. Produced by Sam Raimi, The Worst Planet on Earth, lays out the foundation for a possible web-series with the spotlight being on memorable and quirky characters.
SPOOKY CLUB
You may not have heard of Spooky Club, but after watching this film you’ll wish you were a member! Holomax, comprised of filmmakers Joe and Lloyd Stas, infuse their films with manic energy and a quirky comedic edge, resulting in fun shorts such as DEATH MASTER’S HOUSE. It’s easy to see how this can be adapted into an ongoing web-series, celebrating all-things Halloween and the spooky life, which many of us love.

DEATH MASTER’S HOUSE
Halloween is 8 months away and for some of you, that may feel like an eternity. No worries, as I have your fix! This fun short revolves around a super Halloween fan that can’t help but proclaim his love for the 31st day in October. He gives Dinosaur Dracula a run for the crown of “Halloween King.” Ultimately this film answers the question of what a member of The Monster Squad would be like when they grow up. The end result is a mix of Hammer Films flair with British humor. Enjoy!
