One Word
When the end came There was no pause From one life to the next Forget the cause
People gathered and mourned Some of whom I knew To say words about my life Some of which were true
There was one repeated word That almost everyone said A word so important It lived on in my stead
I mulled over it for a while Wondering how it came to be A word so powerful It was synonymous with me
When they spread my ashes And I became one with the earth There was still the one word That carried my worth 10/14/17
This was inspired by the Mindfully Mailed from @holstee sent out on 8/29/17. “Sometimes you need to start by thinking about the end.”
What one word would be you? When all is said and done. Is it the same word you would want people to think of? Do you live up to that word? What can you do everyday to make your life become that word?
