Honestly a book about a rider who was once a servant and a blind dragon meant for death is such a cool concept. It’s could of felt like Eragon v2 but Songs of chaos very much feels like it’s own story. Also I’m loving how the main female character isn’t constantly being described as pretty or focusing on her looks because she’s also a princess.

Yes. It is true, he doesn't have the zeal of Adaskar or even Talia. But that what makes his moment of boldness all the better. No, not escaping the fire flight- the one where he asked THE Fire Elder to be his deluxe furnace.

love that in all of this, my boy's legacy to the world isn't one of the few living riders that bodied an incursion for three consecutive months and lived to tell the tale, but snatching a body. literally couldn't hope for something better.

Freya and Holt has such an interestingly contrasting influence on Talia.

Freya's heart guided her and she would never refuse to oblige despite the woes that would bring her. And she calls it right.

Holt tells Talia that when she left her father to his war, that was the right thing, all she would've gotten is a broken bond and the order being implicated in a war of men. She knows not to be guided by her emotions and loyalties and does the most reasonable and responsible thing given the circumstances, and calls it right.

And the delicious part and something i appreciate Miller for doing here, is that if Talia Fynn Freya and Holt were faced with an injustice, Freya and Holt are the likeliest to agree on a course.
