It has been about a year, maybe even longer since I returned to this fic, and I have to thank @sorasfishing for your kind words about the drabble I shared because you encouraged me to re-focus and get my thoughts for the plot in order. And after creating a gangly rough outline, I finally have a clear(ish) vision for how the story will unfold and escalate - thank you so much, Julia! I'm so excited because this is the fic I have been writing in my head for years.

I also updated the first two chapters a little bit to flow better with my new ideas.

Fic summary: Three years after the events of 02, strange disturbances are occurring in the Digital World and trickling into the human world as the Dark Ocean grows stronger and throws off the balance between light and darkness. The Chosen Children are called to help prevent the two worlds from being swallowed by the dark. Their power is tested, and Hikari's light in jeopardy against the the so called king of the Dark Ocean, who seeks rebirth.

Relationships: Hikari/Takeru (main), Mimi/Koushiro (minor), Sora/Yamato (minor)

The words dark and shadow are not synonymous, in fact when they are used interchangeably all manners of unintentional shaming, oppression and labeling falls upon women, the Divine Feminine and all persons born with skin darker than lily white.

Who would be the big spoon?: Abzu and that’s not only a question of size

Who would wake up first?: Phantasos so they can get away asap XD

Do they have nicknames for each other?: Abzu tends to give Phantasos many pet names and stuff, Phantasos mostly gives not-so-pretty names about Abzu

What happened when they met each other’s parents?: Most of Phantasos relatives try to remain as cordial as possible with Abzu because... they are still a major God.

How do they apologise after an argument?: They don’t, never, pointless, why!? Oh wait, actually Abzu might pretend to, only to mock Phantasos a little more.

What would they be like as parents?: Pretty terrible, I mean one of the two kids is almost dead and the other is kinda dying and in obvious lack of affection from both parents.

Who is the better cook?: Don’t let them cook, don’t even try. Abzu would poison you and Phantasos would lose patience in the process and probably set everything on fire.

Who is more romantic?: That would be Phantasos if they were more willing to make an effort to actually accept Abzu. Surprisingly it makes Abzu almost more romantic.

What sort of gifts do they get for each other?: Phantasos does not even try to get Abzu anything. Abzu on the other hand would probably bring anything related to beauty.

Who gets jealous easiest?: If Phantasos actually gave a damn about Abzu, they would probably be winning this one but it’s gotta be Abzu instead. More possessive kind.

Who gets more excited for events e.g.. Birthdays, Christmas?: Not really a thing for them

Who is the most adventurous?: Abzu and constently trying to encourage Phantasos to be. Technically, Phantasos would be just as adventurous but not with them.

Who is the most protective?: Abzu... surprisingly? I mean just because they tease Phantasos does not mean anyone else is allowed to play like it with their toy.

What would they have been like as childhood sweethearts?: I don’t think Abzu ever had a childhood and Phantasos would not stick with anyone but their sibings.*BONUS: Song to sum them up?*  Filthy Pride by Social Repose

Do I ship it? 

NOTP / Crack only / AU only / Not really / Maybe a little / Well now I do /  Yes / Of course! / OTP. <- Everyone know I don’t believe in OTP but well! Also I say AU because if I do ship them as Muses, I can hardly see them being shipped as the characters.
