I was trying to force myself to spend “x” amount of time each day with God and the stress of it all had me spending little to no time with Him. I felt if I didn’t spend the amount of time I said I would with Him what was the point of even trying? But recently my mind has changed. It’s not about how much time you spend.. just that you spend time with Him at some point. 5 mins, 10 mins, 15 mins, an hour who cares.. just.. spend time with Him.

Weather: What do you love most?

Let's see! God, Sam (my SO), and my friends and family! And STRAWBERRY CAKE 🍓

Ah, that's sounds like such a boring answer, but it's the truth!

Succulent: What are you looking forward to?

Right now? Well, I am going to a wedding this weekend for two of my really good friends! And our mini-road trip anniversary is coming up, so that's exciting!

Other than that, I'm getting my kitchen and bathroom renovated, so it'll be nice to have that done.

EVENTUALLY I'LL HAVE AN ACTUAL HOUSE IF GOD LETS ME 😭

So I never ever ever post pictures of myself smiling... Frankly because I don't like my smile. Buuuuuuuut... My best friend @holyloved decided to get me the one thing I've been asking for Christmas for years... My other front tooth. So, to show how amazing of a best friend she is, and to say that she legit made me laugh and show my real smile, I'm posting probably the only selfie of me smiling anyone has seen in quite a while.

Thanks Pal, for being my best friend and making me smile, so much more than just for this. You're the best. Love ya. God bless you. 😌

What are 3 things you couldn’t live without?

You asked things so Im not gonna say God, family and friends 😄 although those three would come first. But if we talk about things then my Bible, my phone (unfortunately 😅) and tea.

What’s a favourite memory of yours?

Oh I have a LOT (In chronological order)

Once when I was very little my mother and I were standing outside in the dark (she was talking to the neighbor) and we saw 3 balls of fire coming down from the sky. They made no noise. Just three slightly-teardrop-shaped balls of orange-yellow coming down ☄️☄️☄️

In that same location some time later it snowed. I had never seen snow up to that point and it was magical. It’s a big reason as to why I love snow ❄️

Again in that same location I wanted to plant an apple tree in the yard. We had to move later (and i knew darn well it was the wrong time of year to plant seeds) so I have no idea if it survived 🍎

A few years later (we’re in a different state now) I was restless at night so I went to the window to gaze over the neighborhood. Almost an instant later I saw a bright searchlight beaming over a few of the houses but at an extremely fast pace. It was going to the left of my house and behind. I just figured the police were searching for someone but I honestly don’t recall hearing a helicopter 🚁

So I’m pretty sure my young brain just conjured this up but one day my mother was driving along a stretch of road. The sky was that soft twilight pink-purple color. On the driver's side the scene opened up to somewhat flat land and I saw the moon partway up the horizon but it was HUGE and still that faded silvery color as the moon tends to be when it’s still rising. I saw the details of the moon in vivid detail. Again of course it was likely a fake memory but some part of me is sure it was a legit sighting 🌕

Going to Sorrento Italy with the fam was a completely wonderful time. The colors were vibrant, the people nice and friendly, the limoncello sharp (but I was underage at the time so I got like a sip) and the antiquity glorious 🇮🇹

On the day of my high school graduation party I saw a rainbow 🌈

My dad, bro, dogboy, and I were driving to TX. We left at like 3 am. Along the way there were no more orange streetlights so it was dark, and I got to see SO MANY STARS. Like I even got the see Orion’s shield and the many stars in the voids that are normally blotted out by light pollution (I know it’s possible to see the Milky Way and that’s a big want on my bucket list) 🌌

In one of my final semesters of college I stayed up to watch an October meteor shower. It was completely unlike anything I’d ever seen. My heart fluttered every time I saw a streak in the sky, and one of the meteors had come at such an angle that it seemed slow, it’s streak probably lasting 5 seconds, which was the longest lasting meteor I had ever seen to this day 🌠

A few days after my college graduation I saw a rainbow. At this point I’m very sure it’s God’s way of congratulating me :D 🌈

Definitely feel like this correlates with the Joshua 7:13 verse I shared. You need to flee those youthful desires (sexual temptations, the love of money, the want for fame etc) and PURSUE righteousness, faith, love and peace. Can we note faith is mentioned here? I struggle a lot with my faith, wondering if I have it or not. The fact it is something I need to pursue is actually really encouraging. But first, I need to let go what is hindering me from it all. I cannot expect progress if I am hanging on to ungodly things.

I’m starting to learn that I can be thankful for trials that come into my life. That I would never grow if I didn’t have those trials. As frustrating as it is in the moment, I am going to work at looking at difficult situations differently.

Thankful that I don’t have to beat myself up for not being “good enough” yet. It takes time to grow. Don’t beat yourself up when you see little to no progress. Thank God for the moments that aid you in growing.
