atlas shifts his robes around, removing his outer wear from his person to begin putting on his night robes. weariness plagued him after an entire day of meetings and paperwork. while he was a guest here in crimson's abode, he still had his work cut out for him. additionally weighed with the fact he hasn't gotten that much sleep either. he discards his uniform aside, letting his robes slump from over his shoulders for a moment as he ties his robes together. in the midst of tying, he hears the doors suddenly creak from his bedroom, and he stiffens, arms wrapping his robes further around himself-- but he relaxes the moment he sees jianyu's face. his robes remain slightly slumped over his shoulders, revealing his back to him. " oh ... it's you. "
JIANYU WASN’T SURE WHAT compelled him to visit Atlas at this hour. In truth, he had been making his way back to one of the guest rooms that had been prepared for him when he soon came to a stop before another’s. Despite having been told that he could stop by at any time, there was some hesitation as his hand came to rest upon the doorknob, fingers slow in their grip upon the cool surface of that gleaming metal. What if Atlas was preparing for bed? Would it be rude of him to keep him awake with his presence, then? He glanced to the side, sighing softly. The thought of leaving them be had come to mind…and yet…a part of himself was worried that if he stepped into this room, they wouldn’t be there. That this was some elaborate dream with him passed out at his desk with documents that still required his signature. Ah…but the other’s scent was tempting – tugging him forward even with all his uncertainties. Turning the knob, the door creaked softly to announce the presence of another before he stepped inside and closed it behind him with a faint click.
Jianyu hadn’t moved far from the door when crimson gaze came to land upon the king in question, the mercenary pausing in his tracks upon catching a glimpse of skin exposed to the night. Quickly he had nearly turned his eyes away, an apology at the ready to be spoken for his lack of manners, but what he saw beyond that was what had given him pause.
Those marks…
Surprise flickered across normally impassive features, then something akin to rage gleamed within – a spark, a flame. He had heard a great deal about that tyrannical king of Stella. None of it good. However, there was a rumor – just a small one shared among his old company – that the king’s viciousness did not just stop towards his enemies or even his people…but his children as well. Stepping closer, the sound of his footsteps was the only thing to cut through the relative quiet as he came to a stop behind Atlas, eyes still trained upon every cruel, jagged line etched upon flesh. ❝Did he have this done to you?❞ Jianyu asked, his hand reaching out to almost touch, yet hesitant, lingering. Never before had he ever breached that level of space between them even back when they were younger men. It would have been…too intimate. Too close. But oh how his fingers itched to break past this barrier that both had about their person.
Just once…
Just for now.
